Advantages: Variety of tunes within each song Disadvantages: Can get bored of the album easily and they don't tour very often in the U.K
Meteora is a very strange name for an album and i do wonder why they called it that! I first came across meteora when one of my friends was listening to it on her portable CD-Player of which she let me listen to the album and wondered whether it was them or not and it was. I had heard of linkin park from a few previous songs on their last album but wasn't that keen to learn of them until i heard their second album.
After a year of their second album ... ...There are thirteen tracks on Meteora and these are as follows:
1. Foreword:
This effectively is an intro into the next song, which is 15 seconds long and sounds like a chisel banging against a brick and then the sound of smashing glass.
Not the most entertaining of tracks of which i always skip but when first listening to it, it is a good intro into the next song.
2. Don't Stay:
This track kicks of from the intro with other instruments involved ...

Advantages: Fantastice music for everyone Disadvantages: Come back to me on that one
Hearing me arguing with my mate, Nika, the other day, about whether we find out in chapter 5 or 6 of R Kelly's Trapped in the Closet, that his wife's been cheating with the police man that pulled him over (I swear it's chapter 5, in 6 Rufus has to decide between Chuck and Cathy!), noone would ever guess that I have a secret passion for a group who don't appear on universalurban.com! But it's true, and though I would never announce it to my media ... ...really enjoying the music of Linkin Park (SCANDALOUS)! However I do have it from a reliable source, that I am not the only person with these opinions, so I don't feel so ashamed anymore.
I don't actually own this album, my little brother bought it a couple of years ago, but I kept stealing it then, and I still do now, he thinks that he is above that sort of music, pretending to be interested in my cousin's 'in the garage and nowhere else' band, ...

Advantages: More hits than you know what to do with Disadvantages: Too samey for many people
Linkin Park are a group which always get a reaction from people, and that is that they either love them or hate them, there is rarely a middle ground. They have been slated by a lot of the media, and the most laughable criticism is that they are a manufactured boy band!!!! This is their second album, and it has been eagerly awaited, as their debut album 'Hybrid Theory' took the music world by storm, selling nearly 8 million copies, and they rode ... ...with them, and the gap between the two albums have left many salivating at the thought of what was to come.
There is no major difference in style, only an added maturity and confidence that you expect from a band who are no longer classed as newcomers, but the fusion of rock and rap is still there in abundance, and it still works. I will try my best to make this a balanced review, but I tell you know that I am a huge fan and therefore there will ...

Track 8 ‘Figure.09’ is as song that seems destined to be a hit with the crowd at live concerts. It just makes you want to get to your feet. ‘Breaking the Habit’ took me by surprise when I first heard it. It is so different from the rest of the album that it too could be a single.
‘From The Inside’ sounds like it’s about a relationship and from the way Chester sings this song, you feel sure that he ...

...amount of original material. However Meteora follows up superbly with 13 rip-roaring metal tracks that will bring legions of metal fans to their knees to praise the vocal and lyrical talent of Chester Bennington. Now, in plain non-groupie English, I will explain just why this album is so damn good!
The lyrics are all very original and sang/shouted with a great amount of feeling by Mr. Bennington (lead singer). Linkin Park spent well over a year ... ...an above-average band. I bought Meteora on the date of its release (I happened to be shopping that day) and when I got the album home and put it into my stero I was instantly a fully-fledged fan of them. The album does exceed the original in every respect and every rock or metal fan owes it to themselves to listen to this! I think this is an album that will carry on selling from a great deal of time. Other timeless classics like Elvis and Madonna ...

...not spend it!!!). But when Meteora was released, I really wanted to buy it, because I loved the first song to be released from it, "Somewhere I Belong", and I had a feeling it would be even better than their debut album. So I eventually got it for Christmas last year and settled down for a nice relaxing (ha!) listen . . .
The songs tend to follow a certain formula. They start off slowly and almost peacefully for the first few bars and then grow ... ...singing, shouting and rapping in each song following various patterns - a rapped verse and sung chorus; a part-rapped, part sung verse and screamed chorus, or so on. But, in spite of this, the songs are always different. Here are what are, in my opinion, the best tracks on the album.
DON'T STAY
This follows one of the standard formats - both verses and chorus sung by Chester with occasional shout-rapping done over the main chorus. This song reminds ...

Advantages: A new album after a long wait, good strong tracks Disadvantages: a couple of weaker tracks but thats all
METEORA is the follow up album from the hugely successful Hybird Theory. A bands second album after the first being such a huge success always has a lot to live up to.
Linkin Park themselves are a band which you will either like or hate. They are described as a NU Metal band. They have a rocky, hip hop kind of feel to them. I was certainly looking forward to their follow up album and was not to be disappointed.
FOREWARD A small introduction to ... ...a track and seems a bit of a waste of time but this seems to be a new trend on albums at the moment. Pointless but still on the album anyway.
DON'T STAY
On first hearing this track I was instantly impressed, it certainly keeps up with Linkin Parks style and personally think that this is one of their best tracks on the album. The chorus of this track is very catchy, Chester's voice comes through as very strong on this track. This track certainly ...

..."Best Hard Rock Preformance".
Meteora had something to live up to, many people critisized Linkin Park for being "manufactured" or "wussy-rock" but in March 2003 they hit back with Meteora, a classic combination of hard-rock, soft-rock and fantastic lyrics.
The album comes with a booklet, each track explained with interesting facts with some rather interesting art-work from two of the bands members, Joe and Mike. The design of the album cover is ... ...it shut is annoying as you don't feel as though your CD is safe from being scrathched.

A 13 second intro, recorded at Mikes house after the rest of the album as finished i can't really rate this track as it's nothing much.

Advantages: Some really great tracks Disadvantages: A bit short
Linkin Park burst onto the scene a couple of years ago with the gazillion-selling Hybrid theory and after 18 months of waiting for some new stuff, (sorry I don't include re-mix albums, they are nearly always rubbish as was the case with LP's) here it is.
I bought this album the day it was released, dearly hoping it wouldn't turn out to be rubbish, and it hasn't. This is the dreaded second album for a band with a huge debut, and I do believe they ... ...with a second album is to something quite difficult; make an album that is not just a recycled version of the first one but that also does not alienate the people who bought the first one by being too different. In the case of Meteora, Linkin Park have just about got this delicate balance correct, but they have definately erred towards the sound of their first album, if you liked Hybrid Theory, you will doubtless enjoy this. I don't believe this ...

...also made it hard for Meteora to get the front row seat. Fans were so in love with the Hybrid Theory songs by this time, that new tracks seemed alien.
With the new album Meteora, a definite shift in band politics was taking place. Quite simply- more Chester, less Mike. This album is very much a rock album, albeit one with strange effects and some rapping.
So it starts- with Forword, a 13-second track of steadily increasing blunt beating noises. ... ...Somewhere I Belong (the album's first single). Quite a nice song, with neat reversed effects, nice chord sequence, good ending. Then we have Lying From You, reminding us a lot of Hybrid theory- lots of Mike, hip-hop effects but a definite heavy element. Very catchy song, and deserving of being a single.
Paragraph break! Just for my favourite track on the album, Hit The Floor. Very smooth, very cool. The song starts with a run through of the very ...

For thirteen second this track is an amazing opening it really isn't much all you can hear is clinking and then a smash of a window or something but it is a good start to this album.

This is a good track it has good lyrics ... ...minuet Bennington is singing a verse and then next thing we know he is screaming it is so confusing. This track has a brilliant beat though.

Second installment from Linkin Park, Meteora squares up very respectably to the MONSTER album Hybrid Theory.
As with their first album, this one is full of top quality tracks, the only one I skip forward past is track 11 - 'Nobody's listening'.
The combination of lead vocalist Chester Bennington (with his varying tones) and Mike Shinoda's rap style contributions makes these guys unique, and more importantly SUPREME!
