...their greatest hit album yet: Midnight Marauders. This is one of my most long awaited reviews, since ive planned to do it for months but never got around to it. I think its appropriate now. Many fans cant seem to decide as to whether Low End Theory or Midnight Marauders is the better album by the Tribe Called Quest. In what came as a surprise to me, Madtheory placed these two albums as the #1 and #2 greatest albums of all-time, which are very respectable, ... ...of this review. Midnight Marauders came out in 1993, in the midst of the takeover of The Chronic and Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers. However, instead of switching styles, The Tribe came as innovative as ever. Members Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, and Ali Shaheed Muhhamed came with creative, innovative hip-hop loaded with intellect, social-consciousness, and jazzy beats. Advantages: Bangers throughout Disadvantages: Nothing specific
Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Mr. Muhammad and Jarobi White came together again in 1993 as A Tribe Called Quest to bring their third album “Midnight Marauders”. The new Yorkers come with even more of their alternative, Jazz-infleunced material that was seen to rival the Hip Hop of the West Coast which was predominantly Gangsta rap material (and was spreading back towards the East). 1. “Midnight Marauders Tour Guide” (Intro) 2. “Steve Biko” They get into things ... ...into with a tune that has them getting right down into the funky material that you simply wouldn’t be able to resist once you have engaged with it and you hear that none of them have lost another of the quality tha had come with their first two albums with Q-Tip (especially) taking things to another level that it hadn’t seen until this point. **Five Stars** 3. “Award Tour” Here you see that they get into a massive single from the album and one that ...

Advantages: Beats, rhymes and vibes Disadvantages: If you make music, you'll want to give up.
Is this better than the low end theory?? they are both bonafide and timeless classics that will forever remain in the top twenty hip-hop albums of all time, no matter what happens. i would say it is tribes best work ever. kicking off with the powerful "Stir it Up", and then you hear the almighty tune that is "Award Tour" and you've already got your moneys worth. The tunes just keep coming and coming, with not a bad apple among the orchard. The jewels ... ...the sultry "Electric Relaxation" both with mellow vibes, intelligent lyrics(although has anybody worked out the chourus to Electric relaxation??? what is she saying). ali's production keeps everything tight and consistent on that jazzy angle, Q-tip's unique voice flows like honey and Phife has never better. awesome stuff. We can get down??? absolutely. ...
