...here, oh no it's 'The Nail File'. A bit of a pun I know, but at least it's different.
JIMMY NAIL
Jimmy Nail first came into the public eye as Oz, the loutish Geordie bricklayer in Auf Weidersehen Pet. Initially only known for his acting, we got a brief hint of his singing in the second series of Auf Weidersehen Pet. He had however, started off his 'showbiz' career in a 1970's rock band called the King Crabs, where Jimmy's party piece was to wear ... ...number. Unusually for a Nail song it also has female vocals, but then again considering that it's about betrayal within a relationship, this suits the song down to the ground. Contains the classic lines;
Female "I don't want nobody else, I love you"
Nail "She's lying"
This song brings back fond memories of my stag night too, as I'd be a millionaire if I'd had a pound for everytime one of my pals sang the words "she's lying"

Advantages: Big hit singles Disadvantages: A few average tracks
...in public, to my mind, Nail isn't one of them. However, what about "The Nail File"?! Clever title!
The first track is "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" and it's a great cover version. I've always loved this song. I like the original version and the Madonna version but Jimmy's is fantastic and it's nice to hear a man sing it. The second track is "Ain't No Doubt" which was Jimmy's big 1992 summer smash. It's quite amazing that he could have so long between ... ...The song is so different from his other material. It's pure pop. The backing singer makes this track though I have to say. She really does. The song sounds more like something Michael Jackson would sing and it's brilliant. The chorus is almost like an American army chant.
The third track is "Crocodile Shoes" which was a hit in 1995. It had a funny video to go with it, complete with pantomime horse. It's a great country track which came from the ...
