I played the Sex Pistols album for the first time in a couple of years earlier today and I couldn't believe how marvellous they still sounded. True they did do some stuff which wasn't too clever - I don't like Bodies, and I hated the stuff after Lydon left, but for a while at least they were the next big thing and fully hjustified the attention. this is brilliant. every song is brilliant. Maybe Sub mission is a bit slow but all the others are amazing. Everytime I listen to it, it sounds good. No new bands can dream of just doing it like this. The cover is simple but noticable bright yellow with pink. The track list on the back is like the words cut out of magazines like a kidnappers letter. The guitars are heavy and well up the mix and Johnny Rottens snears and shouts through every track. ... The Sex Pistols made three great singles. "Anarchy in The UK", "God Save The Queen" and "Pretty Vacant". After that they sacked the only member who could come up with a melody (Glenn Matlock) and replaced him with Sid Vicious. The Pistol's sound wasn't even punk , it was heavy metal. Rumour has it that Steve Jones didn't even play on "Anarchy" , apparently that was Chris SPedding, though I'm open to correction on that. Their only concession to ... Read review

This album was released in 1977!... and I love it!, Im only 18 and wasn't even born back then, However due to the lack of good music i started listening to groups like this and was amazed. The Sex Pistols must have created some of the best - revolutionary music. I would describe the sound as punk, outrageous, full of attitude, gutsy, and generally trying to get a message or opinion across!
