...broke up. The making of Nine Lives probably would have destroyed a lesser band. And all the while, they were in the studio with Kevin Shirley painstakingly re-recording every track until they were as close to perfection as could be
After hearing many Aerosmith songs on the radio, and knowing pretty much most of them anyway I thought it was time to purchase an album. After all, every Aerosmith fan has to have at least one. I went to my local store ... ...different an I think suceeded. Nine Lives has a spiritual life/death feel to it. But the actual tracks are far from depressing, in fact it is quite uplifting. Although there are a large portion of ballards present on this album it is equally evened out by the fast and furious tracks, such 'Nine Lives', 'Crash' and 'Taste of India' and 'Somethings Gotta Give' Tracks on this Album Include: Nine Lives, Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees), Hole In ...

Advantages: Pink, Pink, Pink and a lot of other good songs. Disadvantages: Out dated computer program on it.
One of the musical highlights of 1994 was Aerosmith releasing an absolutely fantastic compilation album of their best songs. “Big Ones” was just jammed packed with first class masterpieces. I think there was the real danger of this being the conclusion of the roller coaster ride that was Aerosmith. The summary was too good. It said, “We have done this. It was good.” and there seemed to be little hope that the band would, could or wanted to release ... ...back, one change of image and had been going since the 70s. I find the title “Nine Lives” rather good in that respect. Bravo. I have no idea if the title was intentional or not, though.
I would credit Aerosmith with the invention of the “power-ballad”, I am sure that some people would disagree with me but I’m also sure that many others would offer their two-pence in support. “Nine Lives” is more than just power-ballads though, its worth paying that ...

Nine Live is the album of all albums - I bought two years ago and haven't stopped playing since. To say I was obsessed about this album would be an understatement - I have to buy an extra copy because the first one wore out. It's the 1997 album by the "quintessential rock band of all time" and combines some of the best talents around today. It's co -produced by Kevin Shirley (Mettallica, Silverchair) John Kalodner (Aerosmith/ rock legend) and Aerosmith ... ...on the powerful title track NINE LIVES which just blew me away. The hard beat driven FALLING IN LOVE (IS SO HARD ON THE KNEES) was the first single from the album and demonstrates Steven Tylers emmense vocal range and Joe Perry's down and dirty guitar licks. One thing you'll notice is how each member of the band and additional musicians play their guts out - from the incredible drum solo on CRASH to the harmony of the strings and bass at the end ...

Advantages: A damn fine album Disadvantages: Falters a little towars the end
Dinosaur rock rules again. Yes, the Aero boys are still choc full of energy with this, their twelfth studio album in twenty-five years. The CD packaging is certainly stylish if slightly annoying, with only selected lines from the lyrics printed for most of the tracks, and even these are not in the same order as the back cover.
"Nine Lives" instantly brings that stadium rock feel to the music, with booming drums and thumping guitar, topped off with ... ...The Knees)" already sounds like a classic, and "Hole In My Sole" is a slightly slower paced six minutes.
"Taste Of India" is the first cut to overtly echo the Eastern influence of the album cover and design. Presumably this is where the Chapman stick and Sarangi, which are mentioned in the credits, are used. Whatever they are. This will inevitably be compared to Kula Shaker, if only because they are the only band doing this kind of thing right now. ...

Advantages: Some good tracks, some even better Disadvantages: dodgy inlay
So the 'Smiths have been around forever, and considering what they put themselves through in the late 70's and 80's that's an achievement in itself. The fact that they can still produce quality rock albums such as 'Nine Lives' is further testament to their durability. Although, like 'Get a Grip' there are a few weak tracks, the quality shows through in tracks like 'Full Circle', 'Ain't that a Bitch' and 'Pink' (the lyrics are just outstanding! - ... ...red but not quite...').
Add the outstanding, 'Hole in my Soul' and 'Fallen Angels' and you have another slice of Aerosmith history. It may have taken 12 years to come out, but can any band match up to the Aerosmith run of the last 4 albums? Put Permanent Vacation, Pump, Get A Grip and this together and you have one hell of a collection. ...

Review of Nine Lives [ECD] [PA] - Aerosmith
Advantages: The CD rom extra, and range of rock Disadvantages: my CD didn't have 'don't wanna miss a thing', but it's included now.
...And also worth the buy.
Nine lives is an album that tells the listener that Aerosmith still has 'What it takes' to be one of the best writers and musicians in the world. This album includes there singles Falling in Love (is hard on the knees), Hole in my sole, and Pink. It includes ballads to songs verging on the surreal like 'The Farm'. And has a later addition including the song 'I don't wanna miss a thing'. Also included is a cd-rom where you ... ...the band, and an exclusive Nine Lives animation.
I can't wait until they realise a new album, because if there new single, 'Jaded' is anything to go by it should be brillant.
Jaded has an indian vibe, a bit like 'Taste of India', but in a slower, more mellow feel. It's brilliant, and well awaited. ...
