Advantages: A wonderful album. Disadvantages: None.
...debt of gratitude to Eminem. No Angel was 18 months old when it finally got the acclaim it so rightly deserved by topping the album charts in February 2001 It's hard to really say which musical genre you would slot Dido into, some say folk, but it's not your archetype folk music sound, others would say pop, but again it's not a typical pop sound. My thought is a bit of a cop out it's Dido, it sounds like Dido and she's stamped her mark all over this ... ...wrote all the tracks on No Angel. When you think of Dido, you do tend to think of melancholic chill out music. If you compare No Angel to her second album Life for Rent then No Angel is definitely a bit more up beat, but only just. With a similar theme of break up's, discovering yourself, realization and starting over the two albums do have alot in common. If I'm honest and had to pick a favourite then I would have to go with Life for Rent, but that ...

10 - *I’m no angel*
This sums up the album title. It is quite different to the other tracks. It really gets stuck in your head, thats for sure.

Well, all in all this album is fantabulous. if that was a word, it would be it anyway. Plus, if you put it in your computer, it brings up photos and videos, wow, bonus. ...an urban folk album – No angel, and after months of exposure over in the US, mainly due to Dido featuring on Stan by Eminem, she has finally and deservedly made it big back here in England.
The album itself is probably one of the best collections of tracks I have heard for a very long time by a single artist – combining more traditional folky piano, guitars and striking vocals with more modern electronic percussion, basss and weird funky ... ...make their millions, but with No Angel, none of those “Why did I buy this?” regrets are present. Indeed, after I bought it I was actively encouraging people to do the same, and her success is marked by the fact that her current tour is sold out in many venues – only a month or two after the release of her first album.
This is the kind of album where you could have selected virtually all the tracks as potential candidates for singles, ...

...review of her latest record No Angel, then you'll be disappointed. Since the British artist's collaboration with notorious rapper Eminem, wherein Dido's well-publicised song 'Thank You' was sampled on the hit 'Stan', Dido has come more clearly into focus in the public sphere. 'Thank You' also featured in the movies 'Sliding Doors' and 'If These Walls Could Talk 2' and Dido's track 'My Lover's Gone' was included on the Faithless album 'Sunday 8pm'. ... ...her experience poetically; 'his boots no longer at my door, he left at dawn, and as I slept I felt him go'. This is an uplifting, cheeky song about a girl who wants her boyfriend back. It is a great deal more light-hearted than the previous tracks and has a rather mischievous tone to it. The guitar sounds are relaxing and despite ...

...shrill of a voice is no where near Ms Dido Armstrong. The song 'Here With Me' was out now and I was really into the track as was many other people. This album shot to number 1 for 4 weeks and the track was at number 4 - if the album wasn't so popular it would have been number 1. And I can see why it is number 1. The album was awesome and I loved every track. Not one track is annoying or bland or the 'odd one out' as is the case with some albums.
... ...The semi-title track 'I'm no Angel' is also excellent and also shows off her fantastic voice and addictive but easy melodies. One of the best things about this album is that she wrote or co-wrote all of the tracks which is very rare nowadays. This includes the last bonus track which I think is the best on the album. I dont know if anyone agrees but 'Take My Hand' has everything to be a massive hit. Despite being 6 minutes long the track has everyting. ...

DIDO - NO ANGEL
This album was released from the talented Dido in 1999 and has done so well, it's still in the charts 2 years later! I just had to go out and buy it, consisting of some great tracks, a few of which have been great chart releases for the soloist. 'I'm No Angel' is the closest to a title track that you will find on this album. 10.’I’m no Angel’. A more upbeat song, it has a catchy tune and is up there with ‘Hunter’. I can’t help but tap my feet to this.
11.’My Life’. This is a ballad, and has a touch of Jazz style music. Vocals are genius.

...great expectations, but Dido - No Angel did not disappoint.
Each track has it's own uniqueness and lyrics that sum up my own personal life completely. That is the beauty of Dido's first album, it had at least one track that everyone can relate to, if not several. The writing is all either solely done by Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong (Dido's real name) or at least co-written by her and the tracks all feel so personal.
