Get Your Hands Off My Nob
Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by Paiceyjohn

Advantages: Ground Breaking Album
Disadvantages: None

...true. Honest. This is officially number two in my series of reviews of my most favouritest albums that I am writing at he moment. Although it is you, dear reader, who’ll have to let me know whether or not it is indeed number two. If you see what I mean? Sadly enough, it is also my second Iron Maiden review... old habits die hard, I guess. SOME HEAVY METAL HISTORY Number of the Beast, or "Nob" as it is affectionately known, was a massively ... Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by Tribute

Advantages: MAIDEN MAIDEN
Disadvantages: -

...it, on to the review. The Number Of The Beast was the album that shot these Londoners into the world stage and it did so with a hell of a bang. It reached number 1 in the British album chart, and lets not forget how hard it was to get to the top of the album charts them days. To get to the top you had to release some really good music, not any old crap like today. It’s the now legendary song ‘Run to the Hill’s’ that is mostly responsible for ... Read review

Advantages: Bruce Dickenson on vocals
Disadvantages: None

...who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty six. Revelations 13:18. After two studio albums front man Paul Di anno left and was soon after replaced with the Samson lead Bruce Dickenson. In 1982 the band released their third studio album the number of the beast which became their most popular album and probably one of the most controversial albums ever with religious groups ... Satan lends his support
Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by tonguelessghostofsin

Advantages: Groundbreaking album for the heavy metal genre
Disadvantages: Production 'iffy'

...solid track, if unspectacular. 5. 'The number of the Beast' Title track, much spoken of, legendary status. This is Metal at it's over-the-top best. Opening with the immortal line from Revelations, it kicks in to a riff crackling with adrenaline. Flawless lyrics and a magnificent chorus, this track is dark, heavy, sinister and silly all at the same time. Tremendous. 6. ''Run to the Hills' Best track on the album, the opening and main riff are ... Read review

...have that great song The Number of the Beast, whose existence caused many to believe the Maiden where all devil worshippers (especially religious freaks). What other classics do we have, well we have the wonderful Prisoner, based on the TV programme and Children of the Damned, too, along with my favourite track Hallowed be they Name. Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by dave27

Advantages: Back on form, Dickinson
Disadvantages: None

...their third studio album The Number Of The Beast, produced once more by Martin Birch. A number 1 hit in the UK charts, the album showed that the group was still capable of writing fine songs, Hallowed Be Thy Name and 22, Acacia Avenue being particularly outstanding. It also included Invasions, The Number Of the Beast, The Prisoner and Children Of The Damned. The album was a fine one and catapulted the band into the forefront of heavy metal stardom ... 666 the number of the best album produced by man
Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by bbjbb

Advantages: Breataking riffs, smashing vocals, orgianl metal at its best biggest and loudest
Disadvantages: the album is near enough perfection

Number of the Beast is perhaps the best Iron Maiden Studio album ever produced. It captures the heart and soul of what Iron maiden are about from the opening chord on invaders to the last drum beat at the end of hallowed be thy name. This album is simply a masterpiece. In the early 1980's Iron Maiden were propelling themselevs into stardome. However they had to change vocalists from the falling apart drug ridden Paul Di'anno to the electrifying ... Read review

Simply the Best
Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by macred

Advantages: 5 Classics amongst 8 original tracks
Disadvantages: It's never been bettered

...20 faves ever, including my number one choice Hallowed Be Thy Name, the two others being 22 Acacia Avenue and Children of the Damned. But this isn't to belittle the blistering, frenetic power of the title track or the Prisoner. Run to the Hills is one of the most famous rock tracks ever (with a hilarious video that went with it). There is nothing hugely complicated about this album and perhaps that is one of the reasons it works so well. The guitar ... Read review

Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by ni_gillespie

Advantages: 2 words - Bruce Dickinson.
Disadvantages: The track Total Eclipse was very good, but a cut below the rest...

...so good it hurts - Number Of The Beast, The Prisoner, Children Of The Damned, 22 Acacia Avenue and the amazing Run To The Hills - but this album broke Iron Maiden, and Heavy Metal generally, to a whole new generation of fans, and is deservingly considered amongst the top metal albums of all time. And scarily enough, it kept getting better. ... Read review

Number Of the Beast
Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by metalrocker92

Advantages: Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run To The Hills, Number Of The Beast
Disadvantages: You dont want the album to end, but im afraid, it does.

...Run To The Hills and Number Of The Beast have to be the next best two but every song on this album is good to listen to, you'll have to pick your own favorites. I've heard some people say that Children Of The Damned is a fabulous song but i dont quite get it to be honest its not as hard as i like my metal, still listenable though. This album is the basis to Maidens current sound, i think its when they were at there most rocky point, although A Matter ... Read review

It Rocks
Review of Number Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maiden by Leeroy.Holmes

Advantages: Energy, impassioned lyrics.
Disadvantages: I guess there's a track or two which aren't as good as the others.

If you are only going to buy one Iron Maiden Album, make it this one. It's got everything you could ask for; pounding bass lines, galloping drum beats, ear piercing gitar riffs, satanic lyrics and - above all- collosal energy. The vocals seem to have been inspired by issues that perhaps only the rage of heavy metal can do honest justice; the fear of execution, escape from the Powers That Be, flight from murderous barbarian hordes, the terrorism of ...
