...time and couldn't believe that OK Computer was in the top 5 - up there with the likes of Revolver and Dark Side of The Moon - so having already heard the fabulous Paranoid Android single taken from it, I was sold and went to my favourite Sundown Records and bought it the very next day. Radiohead are a band often billed by the pop media as 'depressing', and on the surface you might be hard-pushed to disagree. The tracks bandied about before 'OK Computer' was released, namely 'electioneering' and an early version of 'Airbag' provided little insight into the direction the band were heading after 'The Bends'. Give it a bit of time though, and you might start to realise just why the press and fans fell over themselves to acclaim this ...

OK Computer is Radiohead's third album. First came Pablo Honey which is apparently bad. It contained the second single Creep. This song although entering the charts at around number seventy, lauched the bands career. At this time it broke the charts in Israel as here was the only country where it received radio play. The song was later released and the publicity created the stage for the next album The Bends. This album was voted the fifth best album ...
...and a must for everyone, Ok Computer completely out-classes it. It was voted second best album of all time beated only by Queen (I think!). OK Computer, the third offering from Radiohead, is perhaps the zenith of their career so far. This album is truly a work of art and is a landmark in rock history. But every review of this album will tell you this so I’ll skip all the boring details of how Radiohead started off by being laughed at and thought of being nothing special to becoming one of (if not the) greatest bands of all time, and the usual introductions to pieces of writings ...
...anything new. The album starts off really powerfully, with a heavily distorted (but at the same time being smooth) guitar opening. This first song- “Airbag”- sets the tone of the rest of the album (a sort of science fiction theme with lots of futuristic sounds) and generally shows off the amazing talent that this band has- again. ...so many ways to take OK Computer, so many ways to interpret the lyrics and melodies, that I couldn't possibly hope to produce anything here that will cover the way you, yourself, will feel about this album. Everyone I know who has listened to the album in any depth has had a unique and different interpretation of it to my own. All I can do is offer my opinion. For me, the real beauty of Radiohead does in fact lie in this myriad of possible meanings ...
