Advantages: Fantastic songs, 2 hour DVD Disadvantages: lyrics hard to read and incorrect
This album is fantastic. First given away with the Mail On Sunday, this very album budged the newspapers sales up by a fantastic 300, 000 and went home to over 2.3 million people. It surprised many, with people wondering how something could be so good coming from that 'boyband' who 'took over from Busted'. McFly, members Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, have almost been around for 5 years now, so it will probably come as ... ...20-23. Emerging in 2003, the boys were typically shrugged off as being a band you shouldn't like, due to their teen fan base. But that never stopped them from going straight to number one with their first single, Five Colours In Her Hair, then taking the record from the Beatles as the youngest band to go to number 1 with their debut album, Room On The Third Floor. Advantages: mix of songs, no obvious filler Disadvantages: maybe childish in parts
...dominated since Busted split.
Radio:Active starts with a 70's feeling song, 'Do Ya, an upbeat number giving Danny, Tom and Dougie to demonstarte the harmonies they specialise in. It is an excellent track to open with, full of fun and synonomous with the style that has made McFly the force they are. They slow the tone with second song 'Falling in love', a classily put together mid-paced song that may not go down as one of their very best, but certainly ... ...kind that give McFly their somewhat childish image. Having experimented in making their music more grown up and trying to develop a 'cooler' image, they seem to have realised what makes them popular. 'Everybody Knows' and 'Smile' are cheerful and uncomplicated but do not really stand out. 'Smile' in particular is a little cheesy. Recent single 'One For The Radio' brings the album back on track with it's raucous, anthemic riffs and powerful vocals ...
