Palm Trees And Power Lines [ECD] - Sugarcult

A good album from back into 2004. To be honest I didnt really know anything about Sugarcult until my partner brought me this album. An I have to say I was instantly hooked from the second it started. My favourite song track on this album is Memory,its what good music should sound like,its upbeat and enjoyable to listen to. I love how you can really feel and hear the passion and energy in each and every vocal and lyric the vocalist sings with. ...

All the tracks are a bit different to each other,so it feels enjoyable and interesting to listen to,nothing really stands stil and stays the same which for me added an even greater attraction. My two favourite tracks on the album are: 1. She's The Blade - A rocking little track,thats very distinctive sounding. Its nice to hear some proper music being played. 3. When I opened the wrapper to Sugarcults 'Palm Trees And Power Lines' I was excited about what it may hold. Having been a fan of Sugarcult for the previous 2 years and seeing them in concert twice, I was looking forward to their new material. I put the CD in and the first track i heard blaring out of the speaker was their latest single 'She's The Blade'. ...number 7 'Champagne' was the darling that brought me ''crashing down again' '(a Sugarcult fanatic should understand that). I thought that was it for Sugarcult as I didn't think their new material was that great. I then discovered after actually listening to the album, rather than skimming, that the new stuff was even better than before. This album is excellent! It was the first album by Sugarcult i heard but it was by far the most pleasing in terms of instrumental talent. The guitarist makes the use of power chords and solos to its best. Bass riffs are simple but effect, as they are route notes to the power chords on guitar.
