where to start?..............i dont really know what exactly to say about this?! I really like it.......... I have always loved Fatboyslims music, but have never bought any of his CDs? Why? and why have i bought this one? The answers to all of those questions is...I dont know!!! I have no idea what possesed me to buy this album, i suppose it was an impulse buy...but i havent regreted it. Although this isnt Fatboyslims best material it is stiill ...
...is very unique and i dont think can be heard with any other artist. Within this album there are some very very very odd songs with some even more odd lyrics, but even their oddness has not put me off!!! The first track in my opinion is a fabulous start to the album, it is called "Dont let the man get you down" and starts with an almost comical intro of lots of "ooooooooooooooooooooooooo"ing with just a piano to acompany. Fatboy Slim was great in the late 90's with his dance tracks and samples and silly loops, but that was then. Even the House music age is over, and Norman Cook has recognized this and has put together a great new collection of just plain music. The rhymes and singing of Lateef, Damon Albarn and Fatboy-alum Bootsy Collins fit right in with the hip-hop, laid-back feel of this album. My favorites include: "Don't Let The Man Get You Down" (featuring a ...
...on Vocals), "Mi Bebe Masoquista" (Great beat), "North West Three" (good song to just chill to, much like the entire album), and "The Journey" (again with Lateef). This album is great for Fatboy Slim fans looking for something different and who are ready to progress with the times. This is a real feelgood album, Highlights for me include 'The Joker', 'Wonderful Night' and 'The Journey'. The album is different to the usual Fatboy Slim flavour, but it offers a good mix of guest artists and experimental sounds, such as in the somewhat bizarre, but funky 'Slash Dot Slash'.
