Advantages: Tantalises your ear buds! Disadvantages: Probably not too everyones taste!
...who have read my Moby Play DVD review you will know that I am a massive fan of this extremely talented musician. I have purchased this particular album, 3 times since its release in 1999. This just proves what a fan I am of this highly acclaimed and powerful album that has sold over 8 million copies worldwide! I can't live without the inspirational tunes of this album! Each track means so much to me emotionally and I am about to tell you why with ...

Advantages: A modern classic to rival Moby Dick Disadvantages: Pardon?
Right, cards on the table. The contents of this universally acclaimed 1999 offering on the Mute label from Herman Melville’s most famous great-great-great-great-nephew surprise me – I had expected a cascade of top-notch up-tempo dance tunes when I recently lifted a copy from CD WOW’s bargain basement for a mere £6.99. However, Moby is one of dance music’s most eccentric artists, recording work as the mood takes him and not ...

Moby - Play
The title is so because every song in this album has been used in one form or another. Many have appeared in adverts, others in television shows, and some on the wireless.
As with many of my opinions on albums, I will give you a list of songs with a few sentences about them.
1. Honey 3:29
A lively start (you could hear this a lot.) The lyrics consist of "come back, some time." There is a fast beat with this song and there is ...

Advantages: Original sound and great artist Disadvantages: Some tracks a few hours too short
18 tracks on one album, not bad. 18 unique, clever, diverse, uplifting, soulful, mellow pieces of great music.
I bought this album because I saw Moby in a TV concert and was very impressed by his musical talent, previously he was just another DJ who made records, well I was wrong, the guy plays most instruments well., a strange thing to write having seen him once on TV and listened to one album, but this guy seems to have a brilliant image, charisma, ...

...one . I know I play one. Simple folky tune.
Track 17- "The sky is broken"
Drum beat…speaking again! Nice thoughts though."The sky turns black" "There`s nothing left here for me"…oooh now I feel so cheerful! Gosh aren`t I sarcastic
Track 18 - "My weakness"
Picture those Hawaiian people welcoming you in to shore…actually again clever use of a reverse sample!Nice and drifty again..peaceful. Relax and feel warm!!

Who Is Moby Review ofPlay - Mobyby

Advantages: A long history of prpducing high quality and astoundingly diverse music. Disadvantages: Some of his earliest techno work is not so good.
'Play' has been Moby's most successful album by a long way. Many of the people who loved 'Play' are now looking to some of Moby's earlier work, extending back nearly a decade, and finding a lot more quality music.
Moby's earliest work was as a techno-house DJ, releasing a number of large underground tracks on 12" vinyl in the early nineties. Much of this can be found on his 1993 release on the Instinct label, 'The Story So Far.' This album includes ...

After hearing this newest release from Moby, I'm convinced that he really enjoys throwing people for a loop. After being on the scene for quite some time, he released the critically acclaimed Everything Is Wrong, but followed it up with the bipolar Animal Rights. Even though it contained some nice moments (and even some nice ambience of old), it garnered a fairly weak response from people in general and faded away fast. Over the course of the next ...

Advantages: Very Catchy Disadvantages: Lots of instrumentals
...or 'sad.' Not one to play when you've been dumped. Despite what i've said I do like this song. 8/10
South side:
Quite catchy, slow to start off with a faster chorus. Has a certain feel good factor. 8/10
Rushing:
Slow despite the title, very calming and relaxing, perfect to wind-down to. Although a bit too slow for my liking. Has a contrast where it speeds up abit into an instrumental to interpret the theme of rushing. 6/10
Bodyrock: ...

This album my brother bought and although I do not particularly like dance music and anything remotely similiar to dance music. However Moby's album has some of the catchiest tunes, (but not exactly annoying) I have ever heard! Sure enough after hearing only a couple of the songs I could not stop singing along to the tunes (and even dancing whilst making very strange guitar movements to the music). Some of Moby's tracks are reasonably slow and quite ...

Advantages: Some pretty good songs Disadvantages: Too long, too boring, too rubbish
...that, for the main part, Play is repetitive, boring, and thoroughly uninteresting.
All the tracks revolve around a grooving beat and the occasional piano, string or keyboard chord. Which is fine if you like that sort of thing, ie most dance music. But I find it a bit tedious. And very few tracks actually feature Moby singing. Now, I very much suspect that this is because Dicky-boy here can’t sing. Certainly, judging by his Glastonbury performance, ...

Advantages: Excellent tunes for any occasion Disadvantages:
This album was recommended to me by a friend, so I decided to borrow their copy. It was songs like 'Porcelain' and 'Natural blues' that made me go out and buy the album for myself, but the rest of the album is just as good to chill out to. I also saw Moby live on MTV not so long ago, and there is nothing better than seeing them live in front of thousands of fans who are screaming for more. I will try and see them live for myself so that I can be part ...

Apparently every track on this album is used on television or in films and rightly so. The off the wall sound is appealing and easy to listen to. It isn’t pop although the tracks should appeal to pop fans. I first came to hear of Moby after his rewrite of the James Bond theme and I really liked that at the time. I don’t usually make a habit of listening to popular artists or buying their records but having heard the albums at a friends house I felt ...

Advantages: eighteen great tracks Disadvantages: None
...first thing I did was play it. Damn!, why did I wait so long? Excellent value for money aswell, because it has eighteen tracks on it.
From the moving "Why does my heart feel so bad?" to the haunting "Porcelin", virtually every track is a classic. Not surprising that every single that Moby has released has been used as the soundtrack for a commercial somewhere in the world.Would I recommend it?, I think sales in excess of twenty million copies gives ...
