...track sounds great and are pretty heavy too (although perhaps not as heavy as some songs from later albums). Something I Can Never Have is possibly the most important track on the album. It is a powerful song with very sincere dark lyrics. It is not heavy at all and is almost dominated by Trent’s voice. NIN's first album is still as important today is it was when it was released over 10 years ago. It contains industrial classics such as 'Head Like A Hole' and 'Terrible Lie' to get the anger flowing and softer moments such as 'Something I can never have' which again highlights the broad spectrum of Mr. Reznor's musical abilities.
