Advantages: Fabulous production, a real mix of styles Disadvantages: None!
Well it's another year and another release for the legends that are the Chemical Brothers.
The Chemical Brothers are two guys called Tom and Ed; the pair met while at university in Manchester in the late eighties. At this time a revolution was going on, a musical revolution. These days were the days of the legendary Manchester club The Hacienda. Dance music was really beginning to take off in all it's forms wether it be the vocal, funky house from ... ...fell in love with this emerging scene. The pair also had a love of hiphop, funk, rock and soul. The next step for the music lovers was obvious; they began to DJ under the name of "The Dust Brothers". They earned legendary status among clubbers for their fantastically eclectic sets. But things got even bigger....
In 1992 they made the decision that would make them what they are today. They decided to go into the studio and start making their own ...

Advantages: A couple of big tunes Disadvantages: Inconsistent
“Push The Button” was the fifth album from the Manchest0based Electronica duo The Chemical Brothers. It was one which stood out as a, although they had consistently remained as a successful mainstream act since their 1995 debut, at this point they were able to come up with a burst of new potential future classic dance cuts with this 2005 record as they showed how the North West delivers when it comes to Trip-Hop and Big Beat material. 1. “Galvanize” ... ...which really brought major attention back to the group as with this they were able to break the top five (in the UK) with a timeless killer cut which is seen to get them using the raps vocals of one of the biggest in the game to have survived the Jazz Rap years up to current times. It is a fly tune and one which you will always struggle to find a reason for a liking of. **Four Stars** 2. “The Boxer” They move things on with a choppy Trip-Hop track ...

...a slightly different direction, but Push the Button, doesn’t really hit all of the buttons for me. The album starts well but then it fades a third of the way in with Believe, it comes strong again with Come inside, but really looses the plot with Close your eyes before coming go again with Marvo Ging and finishing well Surface to Air. ...With Us, and now there's Push The Button. I would say that each of these three albums are on a par with one another, although each is more contemporary than the last.
I like to think of these albums as boxes of marbles. Bear with me, this is an analogy, not some peculiar myopic vision... Each track is like a marble - you know each one is good and each one is strong and solid... all are of similar shape to the others... some are larger, some have ... ...rough. But you know, for all their differences, they are instantly recognisable as marbles. The Chem Bros songs each are different, have trademarks and musical techniques embedded in them so that you know each one is a Chem Bros track.
The thing is, that towards the end of last year, Kasabian stole the Chem Bros' trademark "ooof!" sound, so their unique style of music is all Tom and Ed have left, and they work wonders with it on this album.
There ...

Advantages: Never fails to amaze Disadvantages: the disadvantage is that there is not a disadvantage
...Chemical Brothers 5th studio album Push The Button, what is there to say about this grammy grabbing masterpiece, well actually there is quite a lot to say. Firstly the album was awarded two grammie's in 2005 for the best dance track of the year "Galvanize" which featured Q-TIP and secondly for best dance album of the year which is a great achievement as there were many great dance albums released that year meaning that the chemical brothers are at ... ...still the chemical brothers really push the boundaries with this track by dropping in some insane noises and huge synth sounds. A really clever and complex track nice work guys.
Track three then mixes in, The Boxer, which is the third single released from this album. This track has a typical "four on the floor beat" which is then combined with a mean sound which pulsates in rhythm with the beats and crazy "zap" type noises, which leave me to think ...

Advantages: Diverse, A couple of brilliant tracks Disadvantages: Not as good as other Chemical Borothers albums but still worth a listen!
'Push The Button' - Chemical Brothers second newest album is as expected a quality and diverse combination of variuos styles of electronic music as all of the Chemical's albums. Some nice guest appearence's also from Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest and Tim Burgess from the Charlatans. The album contains styles such as elecro house, techno, hip hop, breaks and indie.
Although I do rate this album highly, I would not class this by no means as one ... ...'Dig Your Own Hole' and even the latest release 'We Are The Night'.
Favourite tracks:
Galvanise feat. Q-Tip - Awesome hio hop house fusion. This i sprobably the most famous track on the album, did extremely well in the charts. Bit of an asian music influence apparent
Come Inside - Nice pumping breakbeat track with some strong percussive elements and some nice twisted vocals
Believe - Tough electro house pounder containing some wicked noises and ...

Advantages: Good mix of amazing songs Disadvantages: Some songs can seem repetetive or slow to pogress.
The very popular song Galvanise is the first song on this album and it is an amazing album of diverse songs. Some of them are just asking to be remixed or used in break beats because there is a great solid beat, but they do not progress very much (such as shake bounce break, and the big jump). Others are quite chilled out and a sunset on a beach in Ibiza comes to mind (such as surface to air and hold tight london). While some have more of a conventional ... ...Brothers they will definitely not be disappointed by this album, it is more contemporary than their previous stuff but still a high standard, but those looking for an album of songs like Galvanise should be aware it is much more varied and may take a few listens to grow on you. ...

Advantages: wide range of styles, lots of good tracks, not very expensive Disadvantages: a couple of flat beats
...The Chemical Bro's new CD: Push the Button is certainly going in a different direction, the Album starts with Galvanize which really gets you into the album, its got a great beat and features Q-Tip, the legend himself. It has the sort of beat that sticks with you all day which is a good thing.
The Album covers a wide range of styles, some fast, some slow and with good vocals. There are a couple which lack a bit of punch but the rest of the album ... ..."Surface to Air" which has a massive intro/build up and turns into one of those tracks that sounds familiar but you cant quite remember where you heard it (if that makes sense) all in all its a good CD and is a worthy addition to The Chemical Brothers mountain of quality stuff while at the same time moving into another direction.
if you really search around you can find it for less than a tenner too. ...
