Advantages: Some good tunes Disadvantages: Quite a few stinkers
Ok, I'm on a cd reviewing role, just done a review of Load, so now on to Reload... Once again it's a song by song break down, nice 'n simple.
Fuel. Real heavy, and a good start to the cd. Gets boring, but the chorus is DEAD nice. A good song overall, but I wish he wouldn't say "OHHHH YEAH YEAH", thats sounds rubbish! 8/10
The Memory Remains. Really damn good. Stupidly enjoyable tune, I love the lyrics and the heavy yet melodic tune. A corker ...

Advantages: It's new Metallica material Disadvantages: It's not that great
...album would not be called Re-Load or Reloaded or anything Load. Oh well. The first track, Fuel, is a good tune but I don’t really get the lyrics, they just seem to be randomly connected words. The Memory Remains is better though, a lot better. Marianne Faithful provides guest vocals, which adds a bit of variety to the standard Metallica sound, and the variety continues with Devil’s Dance. This track has Kirk seemingly using as many whammy pedals as ...

Advantages: metallica produce yet another classic album Disadvantages: rubbish artwork, lack of lyrics again
This album has several brilliant Metallica songs on it.
The best of the CD are 'Devils Dance', 'Prince Charming', 'Fuel', 'Better than you' and 'Unforgiven 2'.
Metallica brilliantly mix hard rock classics with the storng ballads such as unforgiven 2, this is an absolutely classic track, even better, IMO than the first Unforgiven and that says something as that is a classic song.
All 13 tracks are very good, the only exception in my opinion ...

Advantages: Better Than Load Disadvantages: Too many fillers
There was a deep suspicion about this album right from the off, as it was written at the same time as "Load" and could therefore be regarded as rejected material. The band vehemently denied this of course, claiming that the two records are vastly different, and I have to say I broadly agree with them, and feel that this is better than the last release.
There are several excellent tracks - "Fuel" (real old-style monster riff), single "The Memory ...

Advantages: Fuel is a brilliant song Disadvantages: Some very bad songs
I have downloaded a few (three or four) Metallica songs from napster, and really liked them so I decided to buy an album. I was recommended to buy 'reload', however I couldn't find it in any shops. Luckily I was in London and decide to go to Tower Records, under the illsion that they would have it. And they did, so I bought it for the huge price of £16.49 (which I thought was sooo much), I bought it dispite the huge sum of money needed to pay for ...

Advantages: Good riffs and solos. at 1 hour 16 you get a lot for your money Disadvantages: A couple of disappointing tracks
Despite criticism from cynical Metallica fans I rate this as one of the best Metallica albums. The album is a departure from their heavier, more aggressive sound on albums like 'And Justice for All' but as an album in its own right it is still very good.
The best tracks are The Memory Remains, Carpe Diem Baby, Bad Seed and of course The Unforgiven II. The Unforgiven II is my personal favourite, combining good lyrics and a solo that is up there with ...

Advantages: Classic metal moments Disadvantages: Samey
Love them or loathe them the men in black go on. From the opening aural assault of Fuel to the dying embers of Fixxxer this is yet another Metallica classic. You’ve got full on Hendrix tinged rock (Fuel), grinding sludge (The Memory Remains), epic power ballads (The Unforgiven II) and classic metal (Better Than You).
And that sums Metallica up. They are no longer confined to the limitations of the thrash genre. In fact, its almost undeniable ...

Advantages: good songs, nuce lyrics good beat Better then last album Disadvantages: Not as polished, not the same speed or class as others
This album was highly controversial when released and many fans did not want to know as it was just a different format from the black album and Master of puppets which are slightly better. It is still an excellent album with some great songs like Fuel, Memory Remains and Carpe Diem Baby.
It has not quite got the class, the speed the adrenaline of the other albums. I certainly prefer it to the previous album Load which was not polished enough. When ...
