Remedy, I believe is Basement Jaxx's first mainstream offering, and it does n't disappoint. So far the single releases of Red Alert, Rendezvous and Bingo Bango have been comparative chart successes, however the album is a quintessential mix of what is good with house music, indeed with Jump ' n ' shout one could almost traverse the house and garage line. I don't think this opinion will be too populer because I know alot of people realy rate this CD but I dont! I bought it as soon as it came out on the strengh of the funky single 'Red Alert' and the great reviews it was getting in the press. I was very dissapointed, 'Rendez-vu' and 'Bingo Bango' were the only other good tracks, the others go from bland to awful, with anoying interludes seperating them. 3 good track dont make a great album I dont ... Red alert, red alert, it’s a catastrophe. Goes the single, red alert, a catastrophe, however this albumn is not! With the stand out tracks Red alert , rondezvous and bingo bango, which were all singles, youd think that there was not much else on the album. But after a couple of listens it becomes clear that this is certainly not the case, these guys have worked hard on this album and with a bit of patience on your part, it has payed off. Nice! Basement Jaxx is comprised of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, a couple of local London lads that have a brilliant and innovative approach to their mixing and music making. For those of you who are looking on in disgust thinking that this is just a load of dance crap would be wrong. This album, in general, is great. House music isn't exactly as popular as garage at the moment. With the likes Craig David filling the nation in on what him and the equally dim girl next door are getting up to, or the Artful Dodger telling everyone to slow down (referring to Movin' Too Fast, if that was a bit obscure for you), there isn't ... Lets get this straight. I'm not a massive fan of dance, I rather listen to some alternative rock any day but this is still rather good. I have nothing against dance music in general, it's just most of it really sucks ass and sounds all the same. but this is nice and original and I would dance to it in a club any day. cos that's what it's made for. Well Basement Jaxx stormed onto the scene with Red Alert which was really very good. They seemed to look like a dance act, but then Red Alert was suggesting that they are almost pop blended with dance for a good measure. After buying the album I was suitably impressed with a good selection of songs from it, but they are not Dj meisters! They do a very good line in pop-come-dance kind of music. The Basement Jaxx album "Remedy" is a stellar production which covers many different aspects of house music. The Jaxx's groovy, deep house style reigns supreme on this album, with each track having a completely unique sound and focus. The album starts out with the single "Rendez Vu" and sets the mood for the rest of the trip. Disadvantages: Silly little interludes

...intended for a dance audience, remedy supplies you with enough funk, punk and garage to blow your mind. It is more of a journey, starting with the balearic whisper of rendezvous, right through to the finale, which is being with you, chilled as anything.
