Advantages: Original, intelligent, different to most other predictable, cheesy dance music thatis around at the moment. Disadvantages: One track: Bingo Bango. Let's the side down a bit.
So. I'm white dot bloke am I? What kind of stupid system is this? I'm not impressed with Ciao at the moment, what with crappy pay systems, derogatory community ratings, etc. but I was bored, so I decided to put another opinion on the site. So I looked through my music collection. Because my music collection rules. Apart from my Limp Bizkit CD, but the less I say about that, the better. But sifting through my albums, some of which are scattered across ...

Advantages: Good feeling music, very listenable, some single releases Disadvantages: Very repetitive, too many styles
Basement Jaxx have always been a band that I have admired from afar, but I didn't even consider buying one of their albums, until it was reduced in the sales this year. Although I am happy with my purchase, as the album is a very good one, it does have some quite strong disadvantages, some that are more apparent than others.
First off, this is a dance album. And all of the songs on it are dancey. As singles, when they were released, they all sounded ...

Advantages: good mix of musical styles Disadvantages: hard to sing along to
This CD was one of those items that Brittania music club decided to send me for no reason whatsoever! Initially, I didn't think it was all that but the more I listened to it the more it grew on me.
It's not the type of music that you can really pigeonhole. There's all sorts of styles of music on it. Totally different to everything else around at the moment. All the songs are different which is good on an album. There is a mix of musical styles ...

so, the jaxx.which sounds like a character out of mortal kombat, has been known to prpduce some quality dance tunes over the last few years and have been playing on many peoples discmans and steroes as well as in night clubs up and down the country. he is a good mixer of his own tunes, able to combine them well, and lets hope that he continues to bring out some more quality tunes for fans and people who just like good music alike! and the music keeps ...

Remedy, I believe is Basement Jaxx's first mainstream offering, and it does n't disappoint. So far the single releases of Red Alert, Rendezvous and Bingo Bango have been comparative chart successes, however the album is a quintessential mix of what is good with house music, indeed with Jump ' n ' shout one could almost traverse the house and garage line. Hard hitting baselines are accompanied with a funkier edge in some tracks, all contributing to ...

I don't think this opinion will be too populer because I know alot of people realy rate this CD but I dont!
I bought it as soon as it came out on the strengh of the funky single 'Red Alert' and the great reviews it was getting in the press. I was very dissapointed, 'Rendez-vu' and 'Bingo Bango' were the only other good tracks, the others go from bland to awful, with anoying interludes seperating them. 3 good track dont make a great album I dont ...

Patience pays Review ofRemedy - Basement Jaxxby

Advantages: after a while it grows on you Disadvantages: couple of not so good tracks
Red alert, red alert, it’s a catastrophe. Goes the single, red alert, a catastrophe, however this albumn is not! With the stand out tracks Red alert , rondezvous and bingo bango, which were all singles, youd think that there was not much else on the album. But after a couple of listens it becomes clear that this is certainly not the case, these guys have worked hard on this album and with a bit of patience on your part, it has payed off. Nice! However ...

Advantages: Brilliant, good tunes, innovative, moving, different, uplifting, genius, need I go on? Disadvantages: A bit on the short side
Basement Jaxx is comprised of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, a couple of local London lads that have a brilliant and innovative approach to their mixing and music making.
Rendez-vu is the start of a fantastic album. The whispered voice followed by the bass and guitar is uplifting and innovative. How can you resist the temptation to get up and dance?
There is a lot of Caribbean influences on Remedy, such as Jump N' Shout as well as Bingo ...

Advantages: Some really groovy tunes Disadvantages: Some really quite bizarre ones, too.
For those of you who are looking on in disgust thinking that this is just a load of dance crap would be wrong. This album, in general, is great.
House music isn't exactly as popular as garage at the moment. With the likes Craig David filling the nation in on what him and the equally dim girl next door are getting up to, or the Artful Dodger telling everyone to slow down (referring to Movin' Too Fast, if that was a bit obscure for you), there isn't ...

...we’ve never looked back since. Remedy contains all their greatest hits; Red Alert, Jump n Shout, Bingo Bango, and many more great tunes that are all full of the up-lifting beat the boys capture so perfectly. U Can’t Stop Me, is so infectious you know the words within seconds, and the little alludes, are placed impeccably throughout the album. If you’re debating listening to this album, don’t put it off any longer. You’ll be quietly pleased with this ...

Advantages: Doesn't sound like everything else Disadvantages: It you hate dance you still won't like this
Lets get this straight. I'm not a massive fan of dance, I rather listen to some alternative rock any day but this is still rather good. I have nothing against dance music in general, it's just most of it really sucks ass and sounds all the same. but this is nice and original and I would dance to it in a club any day. cos that's what it's made for. If all dance was this original and funky I'd love it, unfortunatly, it isn't. The thing is though, if ...

Advantages: Good meaty songs Disadvantages: Patchy in places
Well Basement Jaxx stormed onto the scene with Red Alert which was really very good. They seemed to look like a dance act, but then Red Alert was suggesting that they are almost pop blended with dance for a good measure.
After buying the album I was suitably impressed with a good selection of songs from it, but they are not Dj meisters! They do a very good line in pop-come-dance kind of music. Not all of the album is great but there certainly ...

The Basement Jaxx album "Remedy" is a stellar production which covers many different aspects of house music. The Jaxx's groovy, deep house style reigns supreme on this album, with each track having a completely unique sound and focus. The album starts out with the single "Rendez Vu" and sets the mood for the rest of the trip. "Red Alert", another single from the album, has a bit more of a groovy feel to it, with soulful vocals layered over the top ...

Just Buy It Review ofRemedy - Basement Jaxxby

Advantages: Track length Disadvantages: Silly little interludes
...intended for a dance audience, remedy supplies you with enough funk, punk and garage to blow your mind. It is more of a journey, starting with the balearic whisper of rendezvous, right through to the finale, which is being with you, chilled as anything. The one problem is the annoying little interludes, especially the "sneakalude". Oh yeah, try playing the "Sneakalude" backwards, i'm that's "i like drugs, ban them sissy". ...
