So here we have it, Robbie Williams' third album. Both 1997's 'Life Thru A Lens' and 1998's 'I've Been Expecting You' reached Number One. 'Sing When You're Winning' has too. But is it any good? Advantages: Great singles
Disadvantages: The lyrical quality isn't up to scratch

So here it is then. Robbie Williams' third number 1 album. But is it any good? Well in a word, yes. Here's a track-by-track of the new album. 1) Let Love Be Your Energy- A rocky anthem with lots of power chords. Postive lyrics which match a catchy chorus. ...an instrumental Robbie begins to sing and the song comes to life. With a chorus and verses the song is well divided up and it is a good song. By All Means Necessary is a sad slow song. It is funny to listen to. The words are good and only Robbie could get away with singing this song. The Road To Mandlay is the worst song on the album by far. Advantages: The Queen of Pop reigns Supreme
Disadvantages: but its all middle of the road stuff really

Robbie Williams is the shining star amidst our bleak music industry. They only person who has the charisma and the belief to do whatever he likes and get away with it. And all of this on the back of very little talent. No Robbie doesn't have the greatest voice in the world. And his music is pop cheese of the highest order. Advantages: More cocky, vibrant pop from the best around at the moment.
Disadvantages: The formula is starting to shows signs of wear and tear, and some of the songs themselves aren't quite as strong this time.

That said, Sing When You're Winning still contains a good half-dozen belters (Let Love Be Your Energy, Rock DJ, Kids, and Supreme among them) as well as a couple of decent ballads, though neither of those are in the same class as Angels. Robbie's irreverent nature comes across from the moment you open the CD case. He plays every character in the artwork, from the players (both teams), manager and referee to the drunken supporters, the police (including the one urinating against the stadium wall) and the fawning press reporters. ...out there who haven't heard Sing When You're Winning yet. If so, let me tell you that it is a masterpiece (as you'd expected from Rob) and well worth listening too although personally I don't think it is quite as wonderful as I've Been Expecting You. Robbie Williams is probably Britains top pop star at the moment. Having waved Take That goodbye some time ago it seems light years away that he was just a band member under the supposed leader and most talented one Gary Barlow. i don't think that this albam is as good as his last that was brilliant and the songs where much better with famous songs like strong .... they were the best!!! the songs on his new alban are very different to what i throught it would be they are slow and haven't go a beat. i throught they would be like rock dj which is the best song of all time even though robbie willians himself say that he does like it. the alban is one of them that grows on you ... I first heard this song on the radio and I couldn't believe it was actually by Robbie Williams. I thought it sounded terrible compared to his other songs! It has gradually grown on me. I'll be going out to buy it as soon as it comes out! It is really tuneful and you just automatically start singing along. Especially since I have now listened to it so much on the radio I know all of the words practically. It is quite different but it is quite funny ... Read review
