Not many bands can claim that they gave birth to an entire cultural phenomenon. The Sisters of Mercy were undoubtedly one of the most influential bands in Pop-Rock music. They started a fashion and music movement that is still alive today. TSoM (The Sisters of Mercy), along with The Cure, are more responsible for the word "Goth" (in it's musical sense) being understood today than anyone else.
