Advantages: Great production, great lyrics
Disadvantages: Explicit, but it depends on how easily you are offended!

The Slim Shady album is one of the best albums I have heard. Eminem's second album (after his debut one, Infinite) is excellent. With 20 tracks, there is a track to listen to for every type of mood that you are in! His talent is just so apparent. The special edition version has 3 extra songs on another c-d (2 freestyles) and a c-d rom element. Advantages: His style and how he introduces rap
Disadvantages: Some of his lyrics are distastful

...people all the time, but Slim Shady does not do that, he talks about real issues that people face everyday, this is one of the realest albums that I have ever heard from a rapper. The slim shady LP was eminems first album released. It is a double CD set. The second CD is mainly mixes and videos and pictures etc. I prefer the new album to this (Marshal Mathers) but it is still an outstnding album. I don't recomend this to anybody that doesn't like bad language as every song has a lot of swearing in it. This isn't good unless you like that sort of thing which I do. ok,lets be quik.this has to be one of the best rap albums,if u like rap and dont have this album u should be ashamed of yourself.if u cant stand the language then go buy some stupid pop album,or at least buy the clean version,but it will suck.if you're parents wont let u buy it,then try 2 find a way to buy it behind their backs or just try 2 convince them that if eminem says that he'll kill someone or that he does drugs and stuff like that,it dosn't ... Advantages: Did well when his first (unknown) album bombed.
Disadvantages: The first copy I had blatantly had the swearwords scrambled.

Well, for a start, the album followed his "Infinite" release from 1996 which sold less than a thousand copies. This meant that this album wasn't expected to sell neither. However when "My Name Is" was released it turned him into a world superstar overnight. Advantages: Very distinctive and razor sharp lyrics
Disadvantages: Too poppy

...and contains his alter ego slim shady, a white trash kid with a twisted and criminal mind. He plays the part very well, and has managed to shock many social groups, like Gays, Feminists, conservatives and countless other people who have found his lyrics to be offensive. ...like the hit ‘the real slim shady’. This has been knocked off, of the UK charts by The Corrs though. I like the tunes Eminem has used, but I am not a big fan of the language and ideologies behind the lyrics of his songs. Why can’t he use the same tactics that Will Smith uses. Track 7 97 Bonnie and Clyde this is a wicked track where Eminem makes a story of his family and expresses how he feels and what he wants to do about it. Disadvantages: Overkill on swearing and track Kim a bit disturbing to listen to.

His lyrics show who he is - someone not afraid to speak his mind, who does not feel the need to bow down to convention and watch what he says because some members of society may not approve of what he's saying. ...contains the hit singles 'I'm Slim Shady' and 'Guilty Consience' with Dr. Dre. The language is disgusting but I think thats one of the main things that appeal to people. All of the songs have really catchy beats and a lot of the songs have good stories like him killing his wife but pretending she's asleep whilst with his daughter. I don't really recommend buying this album for your kids for obvious reasons but older people who don't mind bad language ... Read review

I got this album the day it was released in the UK. I have loved since. I also have another 3 albums - infinite, psycho, and the marshall mathers lp - all are fantastic. This man has so much meaning and his songs have such deeep content. just listening to this album makes u really appreciate his life and his problems, and i really wish him all the suces as he struggled to make it to the top.
