...of curiosity I bought the Slim Shady LP, probably because I knew the 'My Name Is' song which I thought was mildly amusing. I have been presently surprised. Cutting through the general whining of a deprived childhood was genuine pain, genuine emotion and most surprisingly genuine intelligence. Eminem proves that white men can rap. The songs on the album have both witty lyrics and a story to tell. Having heard the first single off the album, “My name is” I was unsure, to say the least, of this mans capabilities, for although it is funny, the chorus is very repetetive and after a while very annoying. ...you into the world of slim shady, eminem's violent inner being and through his lyrics you can really appreciate the genius of Marshall Mathers mind. In my opinion his second album was more satifying due to the music but this album is truly brilliant. I bought the slim shady lp about three weeks ago and have still not stopped listening to it. this album far out rates the previous album 'the marshall mathers lp' which was good but eminem has returned with an even fresher style, giving even less of a fuck about what people and constantly attacking the pop industry, excellent. i feel there is only one track that goes slightly overboard on the agression front and that is a track called kim. apart from ... What can you say about Eminem? He's a short little white guy with whole loada hang ups and he just about hates everyone except Dr Dre. He curses, he lies, he's horrible to people - I love him! He is a really entertaining rapper. You can listen to his lyrics and pick up something new each time. He is witty and whoever writes his songs deserve grammies!
