Especially with bombshell songs like 'North London Trash'-lyrically cutting, with witty and perceptive analogies of scenie-boppers in my home town of North London. Truly is the kind of song that becomes a mantra and comes to mind whenever you pass one of the dudey kids in town. Their sound is Brit Pop Indie but ranges in style on this album from pumpy catchy parodies to ... ...indicative of the vast talent that this band have. The vocals are melodic and tuneful in a slightly low (Art Garfunkle, Chris Isaak love child) style. Musically they are really tight and innovative with dingling guitar riffs and steady drums, but the thing that elevates this band to true greatness is their insightful and thought provoking lyrrics. Advantages: Singing is excellent, some great tracks here Disadvantages: Just one or two off tracks
...released their latest album - Slipway Fires. And it hasn't dissapointed. All the songs are up to the usual Razorlight standard bar a couple of off ones. The lyrics are interesting like all Razorlight tracks previously. I love Johnny Burrell's voice on here; He really makes the album. The bass, drums and everything else which goes into these tracks are really good here. The production tops them off. As of yet just two tracks off Slipway Fires. They ... ...great songs on here. My personal favourites, apart from the two singles, are 'Tabloid Lover', 'Blood for Wild Blood' and 'The House'. Overall, Slipway Fires by Razorlight is a great album with just a few tracks that aren't as good, and should definitely be added to your collection. . ...
