Before Chris Evans fell big style for Sharleen and relegated the other members to mere backing musicians Texas were a proper band who merged MOR with western soundtracks and Sharleens distinctive voice to produce instantly recognisible sounds. Southside, their first album, highlights this mixture with the epic jangly opening to "I don't want a lover" before the song proper starts and continues with slide guitar in a prominent position in the mix. ...
