The video for this is slightly strange as it is about some guy medieval guys climbing a mountain, although saying that it did get to number 69 in Kerrang's Rock 100 this year. While searching for images of the video Wonder Boy, I also came across a game by Sega called Wonder Boy. Now did Jack and Kyle play this game and base the song on this? ...you cold as well. Essentially, Tenacious D is a spoof band. Their recent ‘Tribute’ single was the most requested video in MTV’s history (the one featuring the recording booth) and rightly so. Dave Grohl, of Nirvana and Foo Fighters fame also contributed, playing the part of a guitar playing ‘demon’. It was played on the sky music channel KERRANG all the time, it was in the top ten there for around 7 weeks. But does that mean that its any good? I first saw Tenacious D on Jonathan Ross and howled with laughter. Their role-played rock antics combined with their improbable appearance were irresistably funny. Also they are such great singers and musicians. They were a breath of fresh air with their humour and talent. However, my daughter also thought they were great and bought their album. I first heard tenacious D on Kerrang when i heard "tribute". A year or two after i had the chance to get the album so i did. I havn't listened to it that many times but every time i do, i enjoy it. Tracks "Kielbasa" - In this song Jack Black sings about his desire for anal sex. It's quite a good song but not the best. "One Note Song" - This is a great skit. Tenacious D are a comedy rock duo comprising of the excellent Jack Black (School of Rock, High Fidelity) and Kyle Gass. There aim to 'Rock your socks off' using only acoustic guitars. This unique album was brought to you by the following people actor-musician Jack Black, guitarist-vocalist Kyle Gass, also with help from Foo Fighter Dave Grohl ( drums) , Page McConnell of Phish and Redd Kross's Steve McDonald.
