Tenacious D [PA] - Tenacious D

Tenacious D's self titled album is really one of a kind. The band consists of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, who both do a bit of acting too. Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age) also does backing drums. The album has 21 tracks, all of them being hilarious. They are not all even songs, there are a few of the pair talking to eachother about really random things, for example they talk about women, they argue about who ate a schnitzel, ...

Black and Gass just seem to write songs while talking to eachother, which makes it even more funny - they talk about legalising marijuana, girlfriends, and they argue, it really is funny. The songs mostly have quite heavy guitar and drum parts, and the lyrics are all hilarious. This is one of the most funniest bands around i can't think of any better band. There are some of the most funniest songs you will ever hear on here. To eb fair most fo the album are skits (not actually songs just little acted scenes) but they are just as funny if not funnier than the songs themsleves. For me I was really dissappointed with this album, after hearing "Tribute" I quite liked the music of Tenecious D, the track "Tribute" was different and was a good success, however I feel this album, self titled Tenecious D, is more a comdey gag than a piece of genius music! Truly the greatest band in the world. You've probably heard of Tribute, that's such a great song, and the video is cool, but that doesn't even compare to the rest of the album! There isn't actually a best song of the album - they are all amazing. Especially the hysterical skits in between a few songs.
