...over a friend's flat near the start of 2003. At the time my only impression was 'this is different', but to be fair I didn't hear much of it. I didn't hear it again until much later in the year, and that time I really got to listen to it (my friend insisted I did). ...Coleman's driving basslines really carry the music, and Phil Jordan's outstanding drumming more than holds everything together (in fact, if you ever see the band live, which I have had the privelge to twice, then he's actually the one to watch.)
