...The production on These Days is superb, down to Jon and Richie with Peter Collins (who should also be thanked for Always), it gives me a feeling of warmth and familiarity as some of the bands greatest songs ooze out of the speakers and impress themselves on my memory. The rockier tracks have greater edge than before, such as the opener "Hey God" in which Jon questions life in the nineties and Richie's guitar howls in pain as he strangles its neck, ...
...The Faith's superb "Dry County")and These Days is no exception,with the brilliant title track bringing to mind Springsteen, as does the majority of the album, while the bluesey, jam-like "Bleeding In My Arms" is a stroke of genius. My own personal favourite track on this album, perhaps becasue it draws on so well on broken relationships, is the almost throw - away track "Bitter Wine." 'These days' is a CD consisting of 14 tracks. The first 5 tracks on the CD are magnificent. However, after the first 5 songs the other tracks pale in significance. All of the tracks are well written and with good feeling, its just that some of them don't quite have the Bon Jovi seal of excellance. This has always been my favourite Bon Jovi album. All of the songs flow effortlessly and seamlessly into one another, and the lyrics truly mean something. This album is perfect to listen to as background music whilst doing other things, but really comes into its own if you stop everything, turn off the lights, and listen to it in the dark through headphones. I've lstened to it hundreds, if not thousands, of times, and each time it still gives me ...
...bit sad and depressing. However, the general mood is uplifting and hopeful. The songs are almost like short stories as they tell of events, and you find yourself believeing. Track 7, "My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms" is my favourite, but all of the songs on there are good. "Diamond Ring" is my least favourite, but it isn't really bad. I have always been a bon jovi fan and loved their music, but I must admit, this album was one of the last albums I added to my collection. The album, released in 1994 touches a more sinister and heart breaking note. Personal favourites include "this aint a love song", "these days", "something to believe in" and my guitar lies bleeding"......The whole album seems to focus around losing a loved one or breaking up with a loved one which makes it easy ...
...to the songs seem very down to earth and realistic, for example, "my guitar lies bleeding in my arms" opens with the lines "Misery likes company, I like the way that sounds". This is an alright album. It is a little inconsistent. There are as ever with bon jovi albums some good rocking tunes (something for the pain – sticks in my mind) but there is also some real pap. The guitar work by richie sambora rescues a lot of the songs but there are some that are beyond even his touch (hearts breaking even). The album ends on some good low key acoustic and piano numbers which are probably the best on the album – diamond ring ...

In 1994 bon Jovi released These days probably there best then and still now. The album starts with the Heavy laiden 'Hey god' and simmers down to great slow ballads such as 'diamond ring' and 'bitter wine'. The singles "This ain't a love song' and 'Thess days' are catchy and your be singing along in minutes. Review of These Days [Remastered] - Bon Jovi

Not long been a Bon Jovi fan (approx 5 years on and off), but this album is the best I've heard yet. Starts off well and just gets better and better. This is the Bon Jovi I prefer to listen to (compared to his newer stuff which I find harder to enjoy and takes longer to grow on me)! Good mixture of rock ballads and up tempo typical Bon Jovi rock songs (with meat on them!!) and some songs with slightly different tones. Really good variety of tunes ...
...it - nothing else right now comes close to being worth listening to. Favourite song has got to be "Give me something for the pain" with "These days" coming a close second. I also like the moody blues song "Diamond ring" - different sound to some of his stuff, but good song. So, what more can I say - if you like Bon Jovi you've just got to love this album. ...
