...a huge Crows fan so this review will no doubt be a little
biased. The album contains 10 tracks all of which I really enjoyed. I think my favourite tracks are "Hangingaround", "Amy hits the atmosphere"
and "Colourblind". 'This Desert Life' is in the usual style of Counting Crows, which fans will be used

Advantages: Excellent follow up, much lighter than the other two albums Disadvantages: None
...to get into and enjoy this album if you were not a Counting Crows fan, as with all of their albums enjoyment is only fully realised from prolonged and repeated listening.
However this would not stop me from recommending this album to everybody - go for it and buy it, listen to the feeling in the lyrics and the music and then lets campaign to get more Counting Crows music on the radio!!! ...

Advantages: Great Songs Disadvantages: None
...all there previous stuff but this is the best yet. Where the other albums have good and bad patches (of atleast one or two songs) this stays good throughout. From the up tempo Hanging Around to the hidden secret track this is pure quality. It has just about everything, from the haunting colorblind to the strange 'Mr Robinsons cadilac dream' to the clever lyrics of 'Mrs Potters Lullaby'. This ablum is brillant. I hadn't really heard of the counting crows before I bought their album but I very glad I did buy it. All the songs are excellent and each one is new and different. Each song doesn't copy the last and has it own unique sound. The musicanship is good and the instruments are played well. Another great release by this band. This is not their best album but is still a fabulous peice of work. The lyrics on most of this album make absolutely no sense but if that isnt the sort of thing to bother then you will love them.

...reviews i have seen about this album, it is good, and don't get me wrong, i would recommend it to anyone.
However, when you try and compare it to the great 'August and Everything After' you will see that Counting Crows have not really progressed, and may have actually regressed into a more commercial sound.
This is by no means a disaster, as i am sure it will get them more of the credit they thouroughly desreve, but this album is less memorable ...
