Advantages: Easy Listening Tunes

This is My Truth...the fifth Manic Street Preachers album, was the first one I ever bought. I don't think that it is a good album to judge the Manic Street Preachers by, as it does stand out from all the rest. Listening to it, you often have to question if it is a rock. Disadvantages: different sound from "old" Manics

...as good as the last. This album has introduced the Manics to a more widespreead audience than ever before, yet has still managed to delight their old fans from 92. This is my truth now tell me yours is a great follow up to everything must go. The singles The everlasting, if you tolerate this then your children will be next and Tsunami along with You stole the sun from my heart provide the backbone for the album and are backed up by great album tracks such as ready for drowning and my little empire. This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours by the Manic Street Preachers is their latest contribution to the world of rock music. The style of tracks are varied. There are a few rocky numbers such as If You Tolerate This Then Your Children will Be Next, You stole the Sun From My Heart, Tsunami and Nobody Loved you. This is My Truth Tell Me Yours is the fifth album by the manics and takes on a slightly different style of music to the previous four. Much of the first half of the album which contains all of the singles is excellent, with great songs such as the number 1 single, If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next, which is in my opinion the best track on the album, and You Stole The Sun From My Heart. ...things - artists rarely better this kind of epic album - but it is always destined to happen, so I suppose we'll just have to live with it. Luckily, the Manics ignored all this hype, and got on with making another album, like every good band should. 'This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours', besides being an unnecessarily long album title, is a superb album. Disadvantages: lyrics not good and too many ballards about nothing

This probably their worst album. Although there are some brilliant songs on it the fans want politics and rock. This is more like a collection of ballards. It is very John Lennon. Especially Tender and Tired a piano driven song, about, as all Nicky wire songs Richey the guy who's vanished. Born a girl, Be Natural amognst others. Disadvantages: Bland, boring, inconclusive, apathetic, effortless

...hard to really refer to this album as anything apart from a major-league let-down. The singles ("If You Tolerate This" and "Tsunami" especially) are anthemic, soaring and, despite tendancies towards stadium flag-waving, are immediately likeable. The mournful quality to "If You Tolerate This" actually achieves something rather beautiful - as a track, however, it overshadows most of the rest in a shameful manner. This album is the latest from the Manic Street Preachers, and does just take a few listens to get into. On the first listen you think it's not that good, but after a couple of times you'll love it. It obviously is the album with the hits You Stole The Sun From My Heart and If You Tolerarte This Your Children Will Be Next. It was the long awaited fifth-album from the Welsh saviours of 90s rock, and their first with lyrics penned exclusively by bassist Nicky Wire. The album lacks the self-assuredness of earlier releases which is spelt out in opening song The Everlasting (In the beginning/When we were winning/And our smiles were genuine), but that's not to say it doesn't have some heart-stopping moments. There've been mixed reviews of this album - the old Manics fans who don't rate the new stuff compared to the likes of The Holy Bible, and the fans who welcomed the changes in the music and lyrics. Surely it's better for a band to adapt their songwriting as they get older, rather than release album after album that all sound the same (like Oasis...).
