WHO’S THIS THEN? It’s a band called Culture Club who were lead by the flamboyant, colourful and determinedly single-minded Boy George (born George O’Dowd in my hometown of Welling). The band had what pundits might call “a string of hits” from 1982 to their (or rather George’s) drug-assisted demise in 1986.
