Advantages: More genre defying, stunning musicality from the metal band that's not really a metal band... Disadvantages: It might be their last ever album
...and to be honest in 10,000 Days they have managed to create one of the most remarkable, genre defying albums I've ever come across, even more so than their previous album, which is quite an amazing piece of work.
The album opens with a track, Vicarious, that could easily have come from Lateralus. It epitomises TOOL's musical style; it highlights their strengths. It is an exemplar, almost a summation of much of their earlier work into one near-perfect ...

Advantages: It's Tool Disadvantages: Viginti Tres....why?!
5 years down the line, and here we are again, another Tool opus. Well known for their instrumental dexterity and complete disregard for comprehensible song length, Tool were carrying a huge amount of anticipation and hype on their shoulders with '10,000 Days'. Its unsurprising then, that the bands fourth studio outing is a dissapointment upon first listen - an experience which simply seems to chew you up and spit you out with absolutely no regard ...

Advantages: Flows beautifully Disadvantages: Doesn't live up to the last album
After a tedious 5 years waiting Tool have finally released '10,000 days' their final album as lead singer Maynard has decided to concentrate on his more mainstream band, A Perfect Circle. There were many rumours surrounding the release of '10,000 days'. Firstly the release date was set back several months, then a rumour that there would be no final album then finally, the album is actually a decoy and a second is to be released. However this review ...

Advantages: Unique packaging, fabulous lyrics, and a few really good songs Disadvantages: Erratic beats and wailing notes in certain songs Could drive me into homicidal rage under the right volume or with any serious radio attention
Recently, I have put forth a real effort in my life to further explore Music in all it's glorious variety. This is a trip I've taken many times in my life, although each trip has taken a different path. "Metal" isn't a genre I've explored greatly, but I've had my favorites from way back. So, while delving through the library's music catalogs under "Metal", I happened across a band that I had heard of (...vague memories of half-forgotten music...) ...

Advantages: The album will constantly return to your CD player Disadvantages: The case doesn't fit in a CD rack too well!
I admit, on first hearing this album, i was unsure as to whether it would hold it's own against the other Tool albums. On first hearing, i wasn't convinced.... But, Tool being Tool, listening to their album more than once has convinced me it's a masterpiece!
Some other reviews complain about it being a let down, i really cant agree. I have been a huge Tool fan for many years and everyone that i have recommended this album too have given me back ...

Advantages: Album art and creativity of the album in a whole Disadvantages: too much experimental material and not enough of thee greatests.
...Marie and the title track 10,000 Days starting taking there shine. I think with enought listening any Tool song can grow on anyone.. but for those that chase there great hits like Prison Sex, Sober and Schism, I would not reccomend this album, for those typical Tool fans, I defently would reccomend it.

Advantages: Great songs from an incredible band Disadvantages: -
Tool, one of the most interesting bands (In my opinion) I have ever listened to.
Once you realize how much talent each person in this band has, from Maynard with his stunning vocals to Danny with his spectacular beats, everything combines and creates a very unique and deep band.
Also, what I most like about Tool is, that they don't just make music for the money and they do not make so-callled "Shovel-music" such as certain artists *cough*Brittney ...
