...only released one album ‘twenty twenty sound.’ Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s the only one I’ve seen on the shelf and I’m glad I purchased it. ...The album has 9 songs which are GOOD!!! Dark star is a rock/indie band and their stuff rocks! Review of Twenty Twenty Sound - Dark Star

I bought it purely on looks (and a quick glance at an old NME review) so I guess my expectations weren't sky high, but it's on merit alone that the album's been one of my favourites for the last 5 years. It's only 9 songs (about 45 mins) long, but there's enough variation to keep you interested, and it's certainly different to most stuff I'd heard before. OK everyone says that about everything, I guess it's British indie/space rock. Like Spiritualized ...
...songs 5 minutes long. Solid drum and bass interplay laying the foundations and shreaking guitars/sudden bursts of static over the top. The singers' voices aren't that strong but there's usually enough distortion on them to make them instruments in themselves, and the lyrics are often quite witty and interesting.
