The Album

This Avril Lavigne’s second album, her first was “Complicated”. The second album is a change from her first, its more punky and less kinda pop.

“Under My Skin” is instantly likeable even if you enjoyed her first album and considering her second album is rather different from the first. Her second released single from “Under My Skin” is called “My Happy ...

Advantages: a deeper insight into the world of a true pop-rock sensation.... Disadvantages: sometimes scratchy lyrics, the odd 'bad' moment
...Go', Avril Lavigne has been under constant scrutiny from almost everybody and anybody - there's the 'she's not punk' brigade, there's the 'look at that poser' brigade, and then there's the ones that just talk utter cr*p - but not yet has it got her down. See, our Avril is made of tougher stuff than her critics would care to understand, and when considered the stream of emotion that flows through both her debut 'Let Go' and it's predecessor, 2004's ...

Advantages: A brilliant second album, much more grown up Disadvantages: So radically different from her first album, it might drive away some of her fans
...come to her second album, Under My Skin. On first listen, I couldn't stand many of the tracks. Not because they were rubbish, but because they were so radically different from anything Let Go had to offer. I was wondering if the woman singing on these tracks is the same angsty teenager who sang 'Sk8er Boi' and 'Complicated'. Let me put it this way: if you're expecting Let Go: Part 2, you are in for a great shock.
Because Under My Skin represents ...

“How Does It Feel” and “Slipped Away” are two of Avril’s heartfelt ballads which really do a good job of creating an overall feel to the album. They are mixed in to the overall tracklisting well and could both be potential future singles.
“Nobody’s Home” is probably THE highlight of this album. This is Avril at her best and is very likely to be a forthcoming single. Avril worked with ex-Evanescence member ...

Take Me Away
If youre a follower of Avril you might find yourself wondering how many of the songs on the album were written about her ex boyfriend. Im not a follower of her every move but I believe her ex was a bandmate - I dont know if hes still in the band. I just read something saying she was looking for a guy - which you dont tend to say if your attached. Anyway this song is basically all about not being ...

...of people that can get under your skin in different ways, whether it is ex partners making your life a misery, parents being too controlling, friends going through a tough time, or a death in the family.
Avril Lavigne is a very talented young lady. She wrote or co-wrote every track on this album which is a great achievement especially as there are so many artists out there who don't even write there own stuff. Not bad for a 19 year old girl.

Advantages: mature, great songs, a mixture of many sounds Disadvantages: --
At the mention of the name Avril Lavigne many people just sigh with an annoyed tone and many criticise her. I think it is unfair to say Avril Lavigne is a terrible artist because she does write her own songs and help with the music. Avril Lavigne is a Canadian artist, this is her second album her first Let Go was very successul and by April 2003 in the UK it was confirmed 6x platinum. Avril used to consider herself a punk artist but honestly I would ...

Advantages: continuation of a great career Disadvantages: may not earn many new fans
...of a happy-feeling pop record, Under My Skin ventures more to the roots of Avril's favourite bands, such as The Goo Goo Dolls and Green Day. It is a record of pure quality that also shows her maturity as a song-writer aswell as improvement to her vocal ability. On Let Go, her voice was average, and sounded like the 17 year old that she was, but on UMS her voice sounds far beyond her 19 years and shows the effort that she has put in to her overall ...

Advantages: lyrics, clever, orignality Disadvantages: Not as good as her recent album
I loved this album, she has been really creative and her songs reflect the youth of today, feeling alone and what an average 13 to 17 year old goes through. All the mix feelings are there brought together and made into fantastic music!
The songs on the album include
take me away
together
dont tell me
he wasnt
how does it feel
my happy ending
nobodys home
forgotten
who knows
fall to pieces
freak out
slipped away
As you can see the ...

Advantages: A more mature album, 'Together' is an amazing song Disadvantages: 'Take Me Away', 'Forgotten'
Well well well, hasn't little Avril come a long way from her 'Let Go' with this groundbreaking album. It's been three years since I bought it and 'Under My Skin' is still one of my favourite albums of all time. The album has a completely different mood compared to 'Let Go'... it's clear that Avril has jammed-packed a majority of the songs with angst.
The best track for me without a doubt is 'Together', and I was truly disappointed when it wasn't ...

Quick review of Under My Skin - Avril Lavigne Review ofUnder My Skin - Avril Lavigneby

The value of this album has dropped considerabley, since it came out in 2004. It's a great lalbum, and her songs are original and all her lyrics mean something to someone. The album seems very different than other albums in the same genre as she is. The Album are is very dark, and more gothis, than rock. I love this album, and artist. the best songs in this album are undoubtibly at the start of it. a couple of the tracks are a bit weak towards the end, and get a bit monotonous.
