Advantages: Excellent album that makes even average tracks sound superb Disadvantages: Takes a few listens to get into, but is well worth sticking with
...Razorlight and their debut album Up All Night. It was released in June and straight away became a regular feature in the car CD player. They seem to have quickly established themselves as a decent band with the singles doing well and the last couple of tours selling out incredibly quickly.
Before Razorlight things could have been so much different for lead singer Johnny Borrell. He spent a lot of time in the company of Libertines duo Pete and ...

...existed, the singles taken from Up All Night pipped my interest, and I was told it was great by someone in a bar one afternoon and on the way to the bus promptly bought it. I really need to stop doing things like that, not because this CD makes me regret it, but it's only a matter of time before someone tells me to buy an album by U2 or Nickelback or someone else I have a healthy distaste for.

Advantages: fantastic lyrics, unforgettable tunes, the best intros in rock music! Disadvantages: i want a second album!
...gone before and then built up with the two chords that make the song. The guitar takes over, sliding between the two chords in an unforgettable style, then the rest of the band join in and the song really gets going. It's fast and it's direct. Not lyrically as good as we were promised by Borrell, but a great song to sing to, and a good start to the album.
The next song, 'Rock 'N' Roll lies' takes things the other way, with a loud intro involving ...

...shout which made me sit up and pay attention. The song is a bit of a rollercoaster ride, one minute its all quiet subtle and the next it shouts and screams "Leave Me Alone". A good start to the album but not a memorable song.
2.Rock n Roll Lies
Starts with a big drum roll and had me thinking this is more like it! There is a sense of urgency to Borrell's vocals and then he breaks into songs. The song is a good rock tune, the guitars provide a good ...

...finally makes the album step up to the plate. The former is a gloriously driving, punky song with real aggression/passion. 'Up All Night' is edgy twitchy song, constantly looking over it's shoulder checking there isn't a townie behind it ready to beat it's brain in to the nearest gutter. Both songs are perfectly measured and don't out stay their welcome.
'Which Way Is Out' is just dull. 'Rip It Up' (a previous single) is a standard pub rock outing ...

Advantages: Fast paced, eminently listenable, jagged and smooth, a great album Disadvantages: Maybe slows down too much on occasion
...suitable name then!
I picked this up having heard Stumble and Fall, which is simply sublime, it has a driving insistant drumline, a bassline that bobs and sweeps like a pro boxer, sweet sweetness flowing from second guitar, powered along by Johnny Borell's jaggedy riffs. This is a great song, and one that displays Razorlight's undoubted ability to write a song that displays both energy and emotion, pace and pose.
You might notice though that both ...

...that make you want get up and dance, break down and cry, and go wild at gigs to. There's even a couple of potential anthems in there.
But this isn't, and never will be, a classic album. This won't be talked about in five years time, never mind twenty. For that you require passion and substance. Razorlight have neither, though they're still eager and sometimes that will do.
Easy listening for the 21st century.
My main gripe with this album is ...

...passed onto thir Debut album- up all night.
The day after the gig, I went and bought this album, and gave it a listen, and I have to say- this is probably one of the best debut albums of recent times. Every track is well written, with great instrumentals, and the whole album flows nicely.
Razorlight's music is a soft rock. Something nice to listen to when you're stressed out, or when you want to get in the mood for a party or a night on the ...

There are a couple of weaker songs but as a whole the album is a brilliant first album, maybe a bit of a masterpiece.
I would definitely want to see them live again. They had an energy that is rare to see nowdays and I cannot wait to hear the next album.
I would guess Razorlight are bound by the confines of their management company - which is sad, because apparently Borrell had ...

Advantages: Excellent Debut Album Disadvantages: None I Can Think Of
I have been listening to this constantly for weeks. Razorlight are in my view the band of the moment.
If you get this album you won't be disappionted. Although there is nothing to groundbreaking there are some real classics on this album. The frontman, Johnny Borrell is a proper Rock n Roll star unlike what we have become used to in recent rock releases. The attitude and charisma make him a perfect frontman. Ranking alongside the libertines and ...

Advantages: Fresh, Livley, non-released tracks just as good as the singles, Disadvantages: Some songs change pitch, so their not good for tapping feet to!
Razorlight have introduced rock music to a huge audience this year due to their largest singles 'Golden Touch' and 'Vice', but if you thought these were good, you should listen to the rest of the album. It was these songs which I bought the album for. But listening to other tracks, such as 'Rock n' Roll Lies' and 'Up all Night', I realised that the best music is on the album, and the best way to hear it is to buy it.
Every song on the album is ...
