...about 1989 along with OU812, van halen 2 and Loud and clear by Sammy Hagar who would later join Van Halen replacing then frontman David Lee Roth. I couldn't wait to get my newly aquired vinyl home. I dont think i had heard any Van Halen up to that point. What a treat my ears were in for.

And yet when you listen to the songs here they are exactly that - songs with melodies, vocal harmonies sometimes verging on the barber shop, witty lyrics and catchy choruses you can sing along to.
Most people know the Kinks' You Really got Me well here it is beefed up incredibly but still recognisable and fun. Ain't talking about Love could drive itself through most brick walls yet its chorus is so catchy ...

Van halen are probably one of my favourite bands of all time and this is the reason for it!. This CD changed my outlook on music to this day. It is so original, usually when you hear such amazing guitar that Mr Edward Van Halen plays along with the Sharp accurate vioce of David lee Roth, Thats when you understand what Van Halen are all about!.
The Lyrics just flow so well with the Guitar Bass and drums in this band. Everything just fits in place ...

...completely mastered along came Edward Van Halen who single-handedly changed the way people looked at playing the electric guitar forever, in fact there isn't a single person on the entire planet past or present that has revolutionized the way people look at playing the electric guitar quite as much as Eddie did except for Jimi Hendrix in the late 60's
