Opening with a dance-able drumbeat and growling bass-line, followed by a predictable but fun guitar-part, is the appropriately titled 'Kick in the Mouth'. In classic opener style, there's little build before the sing-along chorus and it characterizes the entire album. From the enraged 'Blamethrower', through the gentle 'Nobody Loves you', to the epic 'Return of The Jedi', there are few surprises on this ... ...Quickly 'Very Fast, Very Dangerous' progresses from the "It all panned out in a way I like, and yeah, I got my faults but it's alright" mentality of 'A Kick in The Mouth', to self-deprecation done well. In 'Some Mothers Do Ave Em' lies everything good about Reuben. It's not the self-pitying, attention seeking lyricism that so-blights current rock, it's a humorous acceptance of ones' station, hoping for better. Jamie Lenman sings, screams and riffs ...

Advantages: Storming riffs, classic lyrics, wonderful drumming Disadvantages: A very huge change from the first album - very simple.
...replaced by the storming and very dirty rock riff of 'Keep It to Yourself', and the simple 'Boy' replacing the stunning, beautiful 'Dusk'. I hate to say it, but it's a massive change. In every single conceivable sense. Jamie's angrier, The riffs are dirtier, and the plot is generally less complex - far more clear. From the epic 'Return of the Jedi' to the thrilling 'Everytime a Teenager Listens To Drum and Bass A Rockstar Dies', this album is complete.
... ...stormer. it really is. A very welcome surprise, and something which is not even conceivable after their debut. The album continues in this vein, the only possible rest being from 'Nobody Loves You', a litling ballad of a song complete with strings section, and beautiful vocals from Lenman. Advantages: Great Guitar Riffs, Produced well. Disadvantages: Not everyones cup of tea perhaps but a band you can learn to love!
...some is feel good thats very rough around the egdes! Its a great album thats different to listen to. and has to be played a high volume =)
The album has alot of songs that are quite bassy and loud.However songs such as "Best Enemies" and "Nobody Loves you" shows a nicer softer side to the band!
A must have to your CD collection! ...
