...the same name. The Virgin Suicides, directed by the brilliant Sofia Coppola, is a dark film about isolation and youth. Many great actors/actresses contributed to the film, including Kathleen Turner as the strict and bible bashing mother and Kirsten Dunst as the precarious teenage daughter. ...is extremely emotive, and the use of eery synths contribute to the chilling outcome of the film. Even the heavier parts of the album are delicate and easy to listen to Any fans of Air, and their creativly brilliant previous albums will love this score. I found myself chilling out with this album playing in the background, as i feel it successfully captures the listeners imagination. I felt like i was in a trance listening to it! ...with an autuer director. The Virgin Suicides fits the bill, and who else but Air to provide the sounds for this charming story set in the 70's. The music on offer here is delightfully retro and very warm sounding, it has instant appeal and is bound to put a wide smile on your face. This is a review of the beautiful score produced, composed and performed by Air. I've yet to see the film but the reviews I've seen state that it is haunting and elegiac. In that case I cannot imagine a better soundtrack. I would find it difficult to categorise the music. It has influences of classical/jazz/ambient pop. As unappealing as that may sound you have to listen to it to appreciate how well it gels together. "Playground Love" is the perfect ...
...it or by "Highschool Lover". Ironically the most upbeat and ethereal track is "Dead Bodies" (!). I have never recommended a musical score before but this soundtrack is something special I promise you! On the downside it's only around 40 minutes and if you don't like Air you won't like this. ...

Their work is now used throughout the film, although occasionally in different places from where the band originally intended! ...soundtrack to the film 'The Virgin Suicides'. Like all things Air this album has moments of gorgeous and cheeky charm. Much darker in mood to 'Moon Safari' I'm sure the tracks here are better suited to being heard with the film's visuals in attendance. On their own they tend to feel a little lost and incomplete (many clock in at under two minutes). Recent single 'Playground Love' and closing 'Suicide Underground' are about as good as it gets.
