Advantages: Classic Wu-Tang Album, Great Music Disadvantages: Took 3 Years To Make, A Couple Of Weak Tracks, Gets Outdated To Quick
I was just thinking to myself doesn't time fly when your having fun, but then I realized I'm bored as hell and I'm talking bollocks as usual. Since my Exams Results I have been waiting and waiting for college to start. During this period I have been listening to a lot of music and one album that came into my music loving grasp, was that of the Wu-Tang Clan and there 2000 release - The W.
As I had played all my other CD's out I decided to give this ...

Advantages: Incredible Lyrics, Rza Production usually intact, Nas and Redman Appearances Disadvantages: ODB is still MIA, Busta Rhymes, Too Much Cappadonna, Some Below Average or Horrible Tracks
I've heard a lot of mixed opinions about the Wu-Tang Clan and The W. A lot of people truly like it, but some hate it. Well im here to give you the truth about this album. You may remember the Wu-Tang's classic Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, well this is nowhere near like it, at all. But its not horrible either. Its a relatively good CD... well.. i dont got much to say with this intro since most people know these guys... so check out the review... ...

Advantages: Quality rapping as always Disadvantages: Mixed in terms of production. Less Underground
The hip hop culture has changed a lot since the 36 chambers album.
The grooves on the new album 'The W' is still raw, but it doesnt have the same underground feeling of their first effort, but this is inevitable as hip-hop has become very commercialised since 36 chambers, on the east cost too, with puff daddy's 'bad boy' influence. therefore their style has changed with time.
Lead single 'Gravel pit' is the main track that proves how commercial ...

Advantages: Gravel Pit Disadvantages: Spending money on this CD
As a teenager, hip hop was my thing and groups like Public Enemy were my idols. As I grew older, and the rap/hip hop scene really started to take off, and groups such as 2 Live Crew and Public Enemy were overtaken by the likes of Wu Tang Clan in the mid 1990's, I started to drift away from that area of music as it seemed diluted or very copycat. In the year my daughter was born (2000), Wu Tang released what was probably their most mainstream album ...

Advantages: A good one for the collection Disadvantages: Not quite up to the standard of 36 chambers
Classic Albums have always been hard to follow up, whether it has been with Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, KRS One, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest or Public Enemy. Somehow these artists get lost along the way either to commercial leanings, loss of focus or assuming they know what the fans want when they are far off the mark. The Wu have particularly struggled with this concept as evidenced with all the albums since 'Enter the 36 Chambers' and 'Wu-tang Forever'. ...

Advantages: Includes: Gravel Pit Disadvantages: Could do with more better tracks
This year already brought us the return of Dr. Dre, LL Cool J and Snoop Dogg. Eminem, Dead Prez and Outkast broke through. And on the breach of 2001, another nine "niggaz" have joined the Gravel Pit. Or should we say ten, 'cause as on the last two albums, Cappadonna features on half of the tracklisting. Who am I talking about ? I am talking about RZA, GZA, U-God, Masta Killa, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck and the imprisoned ...

Advantages: New Wu! What else can I say? Disadvantages: Moves away from eastern influence
After 4 years since Wu-Tang Forever the Wu once again grace us with their presence, this time stepping slightly away from the sounds of the Shaolin.
The album has its moments but also, uncharacteristically, carries some weak links.
1. Chamber Music - Nice intro song with a good beat, average.
2. Careful Click Click - Bouncy beat with ok lyrics.
3. Hollow Bones - dreadful beat in my opinion.
4. Redbull feat. Redman - Good track with a nice ...

Advantages: Good rappers and lyrics Disadvantages: repetative
The W is the latest album crafted by the famous wu-tang clan, whos rappers include Rza, Gza, u-god, Masta killa, Method man, Raekwon, Ghostface killah, inspectah deck and cappadonna. The men of the wu-tang have some of there own albums like gza and the method man whos are both good albums, so you would of thought this be a classic to listen to. The album is dedicated to the ol' Dorty Bastard who was a member of wu-tang. The album is very repetative ...

The new Wu Review ofW, The - Wu-Tang Clanby
Anna085
Advantages: The range of songs which all have different feels Disadvantages: Most tracks run into each other/change so making it hard to know which track you're listening to
The Wu Tang Clan's latest album has again spawned a new vibe. Aside from their formerly dirty and rugged chamber music beats, this album is somewhat different. The lyrics of the tracks tell stories of the getto, and the cruelties of New York lifestyle in a way that isn't boasting - a big difference from previous albums. Acknowledging that they have become a massive rap phenomenon, I like the fact that they have stuck to their roots with most of the ...

I bought this CD because all the reviews I read here were excellent so I assumed the album would be fantastic. At first I hated it, but I listened to it and listened to it hoping it would grow on me. It has!
The variety of beats on this album is very good. The Clan have experimented with making soft, sad songs, 'I Can't Go To Sleep' features the voice of Isaac Hayes (voice of Chef in South Park) which uses violins and organs to create a very touching ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: the tunes are lacking the wutang style
...new album coming out, the W, so i thaught it would be cool, just like the last one.
BUT ohhhh noooo. what is this? its complete rubbish in my oppinion. not a touch on forever. All the songs were full of heavy bass lines and no inspiring lyrics.
The next week I went and got myself a copy of there debut albun, enter the 36 chambers, which was amazing wit all the songs being unique. It is better than foreve but not much, nd is far far superior ...

Advantages: Probably the best album yet Disadvantages: Need the first
The best 1 yet, if u like the Wu go buy it, it's got the whole Wu (even ODB who does 1 track), snoop and even Isaac Hayes. Somehow the wu have managed to improve their first album, the style again varies, from the liveley Gravel Pits, to the somber Jah World, there's a bit of soul, a bit of reggae, the album's got evrything u could want and more..... A lot more

The Wu Tang Clan is a group of 9 rappers from the US. It used to be 10 before O.D.B. left to go to a alcoholics rehab. centre.
This is not their first album, and although I love it and would urge you to buy this album even if you've never heard of The Wu Tang Clan, it doesn't sound like a group of experienced rappers.
It's a lot like the first Fugees album 'Blunted On Reality'. No song stands out to me as the best, except maybe 'I Can't Go To ...

Just listen Review ofW, The - Wu-Tang Clanby
Jugglejo
Advantages: one good track after another Disadvantages: there aint none
This album has to represent the best of the wu - ODB is on here and the great tracks stretch from the up beats of 'gravel pit' to the dull but not at all boring 'i cant sleep'. I have to agree with all other opinions of this album that it is a really good choice - and if u have the faintest interest in the Wu GO GET IT!!! I will say that the first listening ay not grab u at first but just play it over a couple of times and u will be glad u bought ...

The W Review ofW, The - Wu-Tang Clanby
Chris_Bridges
Advantages: Some Good Track's Disadvantages: Alot Of Poor Song'z
This album is not the best in the wu-tang series but is still a great album. There is only one song that Ol' Dirty Bastard stars in Conditioner with snoop dogg which is rather dissapointing because i like o.d.b.'s style and i think he is one of the best members of the wu along side method man.
The album has 13 track's on and only has a few really good track's. Gravel Pit is the best on the album Other good song's include Protect Ya Neck 2000, Rebbull, ...
