Advantages: One hellva good album Disadvantages: None!
Wonderwall, has a lot to answer for -it was due to rather liking this track that I impulse bought What’s the Story: Morning Glory some 8 years after it’s release. It was a bargain and a bit of an embarrassment - I mean me with an Oasis CD! Kept for those long car journeys so I could be that maniac woman in the fast lane singing along at the top of her voice to Wonderwall and Don’t look back in Anger. I never actually bothered with much else on the ... ...wasn’t much else on it that held my attention. Several years of it living in the glove department I took it out and actually listened to it. For me it was a bit of a revelation it actually showed Oasis weren’t just that mindless yob Liam Gallagher but a band that had talent with a capital T.
What’s the Story is a diverse album, mellower then their first album Definitely Maybe but still with a strong rock sound. If you compare both Definitely Maybe ...

Advantages: Simply a great alnum Disadvantages: Some naff tracks
(What's the story) Morning Glory is a bit like the brothers Gallagher, it's loud, it's brash and it's in your face at times. By no stretch of the imagination could this CD be considered back ground nor easy listening music, even if some of the tracks are rather soulful and indeed poignant at times. It's the kind of CD you bung in the car CD player, put your foot down and sing along at the top of your voice avoiding eye contact with all the other ... ...described Morning Glory as an energetic, confident and creative album. With Morning Glory, Oasis pulled off the notoriously difficult second album with style and panache. Given that it was only released a year after their first chart success, Morning Glory is one hell of a good album which showed that rightly Oasis were a force to be reckoned with in the so called Britpop era. Released in 1995,with much hype and critical acclaim Morning Glory is Oasis's ...

Advantages: Choruses sung out to absolute perfection and the instrumental side also excellent. Disadvantages: I honestly fail to think of any.
It was the year 1991 that Oasis originally formed as a band; in 1994 debut album 'Definitely Maybe' was released and in 1995 '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' followed. The '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' album consists of twelve tracks and this therefore provides for 50 minutes of music. When it comes to Oasis albums you're absolutely spoilt for choice when picking a favourite; several of the bands releases are absolutely excellent, for me ... ...just about has the edge however as it's just absolutely brilliant from start to finish and never here is there ever a dull moment. From opening track 'Hello' right through to closing anthem 'Champagne Supernova' the music is just absolutely exceptional and I fail to find any fault whatsoever with this incredible Britpop album from Oasis.
So 'Hello' is the track which opens the album, its chorus is taken from Gary Giltter's 'Hello, Hello, I'm Back ...

Advantages: Lots of strong tracks, can be found very cheaply Disadvantages: The two untitled filler tracks
What's The Story Morning Glory is an album I have listened to hundreds of times, however not particularly recently. Last night I was at a loose end and decided to dig out some old CDs to FINALLY put them onto my iPod and found this. I know there are a lot of reviews for this on here already, and music reviews aren't something I've done much, but I'm so enjoying listening to it again I felt compelled to write about it.
I calculated that I was 10 ... ...cassette, replacing it for a CD when they became more commonplace because I loved it so much. Although it is their second CD, following Definitely Maybe in '94 which also shot straight to number one, this CD contains all the hits I would immediately list if asked some Oasis songs.
If Wikipedia is to be believed (which it often isn't!), this is the third biggest-selling CD in album in UK history - and it has been very well received abroad too. So ...

...collection by the name of (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - an enormous, blistering, invigorating collection of some of the most excellent rock and roll of the decade. The battle was effectively over as Blur teetered on the edge of inanity and drifted away from centre stage, while the stock of Oasis soared (although they came back to earth with a bump when they stumbled badly with Be Here Now).
Prior to Morning Glory, the Brothers Gallagher had ... ...the themes were strictly post-Fab Four with Quo, Gary Glitter and Flame-era Slade all getting a look in as the Glam Rock Show came to town. However, Oasis revelled in this brash, flamboyant smorgasbord of sound, belting out classic after classic. Plagiarism and wearing your influences on your sleeve have long been almost omnipresent within rock, so this was nothing new, and the fact that they carried the whole thing off with such marvellous panache ...

Advantages: Excellent album and a superb follow up to Definitely Maybe Disadvantages: None, unless you dont like Oasis
Its possibly one of the most recognisable albums to come out of the 90's, it was the album that officially put Oasis onto the musical map. More importantly it's the centre of god knows how many debates about the best Oasis album. Between it and the debut album Definitely Maybe the debate has gone on for almost ten years. For me there has never been much in it and my favourite can change from one week to the next depending on my mood and surroundings. ... ...little to choose between them is a rarity these days, but Oasis did just that.
Of course where the first album relied on the raw energy of recording in bedrooms and generally doing whatever they could to cut costs. This second album was more focussed on the song writing and production element. The vocals sounded more produced than the debut, but for certain tracks on this album that actually helped Liam. I mean could you imagine Wonderwall sung ...

Advantages: Oasis at their best, a classic Disadvantages: Only 50 minutes of genius
The antics of Oasis have been well documented over the years – the Gallagher brothers infamous arguments, babies, divorces, knocked out teeth, picking fights with Robbie Williams. The list is endless. But despite all that I still think they produce high quality music, consistently and back in 1995 they released what I believe to be their best album to date – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
When this album was huge in the mid-1990s ... ...all the tracks have great significance for me. The album defines my student days and listening to it always takes me back. I know Oasis aren’t everybody’s cup of tea but this album would get into my Top 10.
As far as I am aware all the tracks are written by Noel Gallagher, although if any of you know differently, let me know and I’ll edit.

...now baby blue. (What's The Story) Morning Glory is the second Oasis album. It came out in 1995 -the height of the foul Britpop outbreak- a year after it's marvellous predecessor Definitely Maybe. That album had been quite unbelievable fantastic, with the birth of a new breed of baggy rock'n'roll being seen. That album had been a massive number one smash hit, that album my people was in short one hell of an album to have to follow up on. Sometimes ... ...up by trying to go in a new direction in order to avoid the inevitable comparisons being made and that most terrible of conclusions being drawn: The follow up ain't as good as the previous album. Oasis didn't experiment. They went exactly into the same realm as before. Potentially then this is a tired and un-unique album. In reality however this album is in fact as good if not even better than the first one. A pretty impressive feat to pull off, ...

The blessing of Oasis
One of the best albums I have heard in years, I first heard it from when I went to uni to visit my sister, after a rough night she slapped the CD in and for the rest of the night we talked from dusk till dawn. I still had the funky beats in my head and I could remember the hard-hitting lyrics of ‘Cast no shadow’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and ‘Wonderwall’. I bought the album as soon as I got home and left it going all night leaving ... ...My original thoughts on Oasis was a bunch of Manchester winkers but their lyrics are the most touching I have ever heard, better than any rap artist, their musical content better than all pop artist/bands in the universe, they have more soul than the whole of the black soul singers in the world past, present and future. They could act like absolute dicks but after listening to ‘Some might say’, ‘Hey Now!’ and ‘Morning Glory’ no one can dispute that ...

Advantages: Modern classic the likes of which have seldom been seen in British music Disadvantages: Set an impossibly high standard for the band's future albums to aspire to
WTSMG is Oasis' second album, the follow-up to the mega-successful "Definitely Maybe" that established the band as THE major force in British music in the mid 90s. It is actually one of those albums whose brilliance you take for granted, and it can be easy to forget just how good it actually is - I played it the other day for the first time in months, and it knocked me for six. Yet again.
WTSMG begins with the aptly titled "Hello", a rather formulaic ... ...guitar-heavy Oasis style. Although one of the weaker tracks on the album, it does lead us nicely into three of the four singles from the album - "Roll With it", "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look back In Anger". "Roll With It" is another slightly weaker track, but is still quite good. Beaten to the number 1 slot in the singles charts by Blur's "Country House", it has the misfortune of being a decent song which is completely overshadowed by what is to follow.....

What’s the story morning glory?
The pinnacle of Oasis’s career to date and in all likelihood ever. This was from the time that Oasis were being proclaimed as perhaps the Macunian version of The Beatles. That time seems like ages ago now, this album however still sounds as fresh as the day I bought it. This is definitely a classic album, despite how much some people loathe Oasis, they did do some incredibly good songs. Latter albums however have ... ...‘What’s the story morning glory’. Perhaps if Noel relaxes a bit and concentrates on writing good songs rather than merely average ones he could maybe one day write an equal to this album. Oasis are in dire need of having the spark back, anyways enough of me talking about Oasis’s recent shortcomings and on with the review of this album:

Advantages: Ten excellent tracks. Superb lyrics. Good booklet. Disadvantages: Not sure of the value of the two mini tracks.
This album is a superb follow up to the debut "Definitely Maybe". There are 12 tracks two of which, the untitled songs 6 and 11, are really subtracks which either link the songs either side or lead in to the following track. The running time is, give or take a second, 50 minutes exactly.
It contains four singles that all reached either number 1 or 2 in the UK singles charts and contains probably the band's best work alongside the aforementioned ... ...with a greater number of tracks on this album than on any of their other albums. I would say this album cemented Oasis' place as one of the very top acts of the era.
The booklet contains some interesting portrait photos and also the lyrics although they do not appear in track running order, except for the opening and closing tracks which do appear in the anticipated places.

If I were only allowed to keep one album from the nineties “What’s the Story Morning Glory” would most probably take this title. The much anticipated album arrived in late September after a fierce summer battle between indie rivals Blur and Oasis, the launch of the album was closely followed by the release of the Wonderwall single in November

Roll with it, many people have said this is one of the weaker tracks, but I feel it has justified it place on the album due to enduring and catchy lyrics combined with terrific guitar accompaniment.
Wonderwall, this is one of the catchiest tracks on the album, which obtained cult status with its oasis’s attempts to get the whole stadium singing their songs.

Where would we be without Oasis? Well the TV programme "Royle Family" would not have a theme tune for a start, and the press would not have had as much to write about in the papers....
The music scene in the summer of 1995 was dominated by the battle of the bands between Blur and Oasis. In round one, Blur's "Country House" may have pipped Oasis' "Roll With It" on points, but in round two Oasis delivered a knock out punch. This is probably the best Oasis have managed to produce in my own view. The track listing says it all with songs such as Don't look back in anger, champagne supernova, Roll with it every oasis fan has to have a copy of this album.
