Advantages: Oasis in their peak period Disadvantages: Not their finest album though
Looking back on the summer of 1995, I seemed so innocent and naïve in those days. I lived for football and impressing girls, but very quickly another force was getting hold of me. My brother had received ‘Definitely Maybe’ for Christmas ’94 and we shared a love for that album. We bought ‘Some Might Say’ two days before it’s release in late spring and marvelled at the energy of ‘Acquiesce’, ‘Talk ... ...the time the summer had ended a wonderful album was to appear.
Of course we got wrapped up in the hype of the battle for the singles chart (eventually won by Blur), but by the time ‘What’s The Story…’ arrived in late September, it was the albums that took centre stage. This was followed in November by the majestic single ‘Wonderwall’ with the greatest collection of b-sides any album has ever produced. I personally ...

Advantages: Music of 90's indulgent Britain Disadvantages: Gary Glitter sample on Hello
Out of the fist-fights and fall out that constituted at least part of the recording of this album, Oasis came out of it with a set of songs that stand-up as their finest to date. As Beatles tribute acts go they’ve probably done more than most to educate a younger class of music fan about the virtues and talents of the Fab Four. Whilst accepting that they’re heavily indebted to the late-period Fabsters, Noel Gallagher and company bring a lusty aggression ... ...in the early stages of his solo career, and that Paul McCartney is probably still looking for. Their confidence, some might say arrogance, is stamped over every last inch of the record. Each track is possessed with an unshakeable belief that anything is possible, that everything is reach. The flagrant swagger of the record is an essential part of its appeal; fans knew they’d be alright in this lot’s company, and droves of them wanted to be in the ...

Advantages: brilliance Disadvantages: can't think of any
This is truly a superb album and possibly the album of the nineties. The album contains some brilliant and wonderful tracks that are Beatles influenced, but this is slightly and it adds to the overall definition and feel of the album. The Beatles influence does show in "Don't Look Back In Anger" but that was one of the most popular songs on the album showing that there is a place for classic brilliance in the 90's dance tunes. Champagne supernova ...

...waited and prayed that with (What's the story) Morning glory, they would deliver. Quite simply they did.
The songs.
The album kicks off with 'Hello' a very good guitar lead tune which straight from the off gives you a feeling of a more mature sounding oasis and the line 'hello, it's good to be back'(taken from garry glitter) has you saying 'it's good to have you back'.
From that they go in to the the first of many anthems on this album 'Roll with ... ...some great air guitar fodder and we're well and trully off and running.
'Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me' sings liam in track 3, the great 'Wonderwall'. No maybe about it, you've saved us all. This track ranks alongside 'live Forever' and easily stands up alongside the greatest songs ever written it's a ballad and it's bloody brilliant!
Track 4 is 'Don't look back in anger' and gives a sample of noels singing abilities. He may not have ...

Advantages: The tracks Disadvantages: Roll With It
After the startling adrenaline rush of the debut Definitely Maybe album, Oasis could look down on much else of the musical landscape with a certain amount of smug satisfaction, safe in the knowledge that if they were never to release another single product they had already marked themselves out a decent page whenever the history of great rock music is eventually written.
However, for the Gallagher brothers one page just wouldn't be enough. They ... ...nothing less than the new Beatles, as long lasting and magnificent as the marvellous Merseymen. Except the Beatles had a surprisingly short period in which to make their indelible mark. From Please Please Me to the posthumous Let It Be album in 1970 was just eight short years in which they achieved a status far beyond anything which had preceded them, literally dwarfing anything else around them.
Speed of record making slowed down drastically over ...

Long gone is the hey day of Brit pop, but for some reason everyone seems to have at least one Oasis album in their record collection and more often than not that record is (What?s The Story) Morning Glory.
This was the second album brought to us by the monobrowed mancuinians and it is probably their most famous as well. At the time I bought it was without doubt my favorite album. Yet now I would hardly ever listen to it, as I grew bored of it due ... ...year on the radio. I was glad to find once I listened to the album after about a year and a half of not listening to it that there are a couple of really top quality original songs.
Firstly there are the great songs which were released as singles. Roll with it, Wonderwall,Some might say and Don?t look back in anger. These were all brilliant songs but unfortunately they were over played far too much and continue to be on VH1 at least once a day. ...

Advantages: More great songs on one album than most ever dream of having Disadvantages: Oasis haven`t hit the same heights since
What can I write here that hasn`t been said about this album. This is THE album of the 1990`s and don`t you forget it. But almost everyone says that anyway, so I`ll write something different. If like me, you were about 18, finished A-levels, Euro 96 was in flow and it was the height of summer, would any other album/songs force you to reminisce about these golden days as much as this album? The songs speak for themselves, I`ve said in my comments ... ...4 or 5 'killer' tracks. 7 or 8 is pretty much unheard of, but this album manages to pull it off. Songs like 'Roll with it', 'Wonderwall', 'Champagne Supernova', 'Some might say', 'Don`t look back in anger', 'Cast no Shadow', 'What`s the Story, Morning Glory' - these are all separately brilliant and classics on their own. Put them all together on one CD, mix in some of the good-feeling about British Music in the late 90`s and you have an all time ...

Advantages: Gallaghers break the big time Disadvantages: The band wagon starts rolling....someone always pays the price when that happens
They'd already won over the indie fan. The cult hero's were due to take the charts by storm which they did in 1995 with this classic album. "Wonderwall" "Some Might Say" "Don't Look Back In Anger" and "Champagne Supernova" were the chart triumphs that took the Gallagher brothers into the living room of ever self respecting young male. Some might say it could only have been downhill from this album. A great follow up to definately maybe, the only ...

God I love this album! I spent ages queuing for this the day it came out a few years back and I still love it just as much to this day! Every single song on this album from the first rocky number 'Hello' to the classic 'Champagne supernova' is brillient! Even if your not a dedicated fan like myself, I think everyone should own this album. It's Oasis at their best! Every song on this has turned out to be an Oasis classic! Amazing! In between some ...

Advantages: Every song is good Disadvantages: NONE
This is oasis' second album and definatley their best. The album has a mixture of their usual brilliant rock and roll, and a few mellower tracks.
Track one is called Hello, and most of you may not have heard of this song as I don't think it was released as a single. It has the trade mark rock and roll sound to it which Oasis are renound for, and has a commical ending where they copy the words of Gary Glitter and his song, 'hello its good to be back'.
... ...recognise and love. Roll with it was a great success in England an was probably the song that got Oasis famous.
Track three is another song you'll recognise. Wonderwall is one of the albums more gentle songs, and also was a huge hit in England.
Track four is my personal favourite. It went straight into number one in Britain, and to this day is probably Oasis' best ever song. 'Don't look Back in Anger is one of those all time great songs. Track ...

in the recent Q magazine this album was rated the 8th best british album ever. on many albums people think " i'll skip that track because it isn't good" i don't think anyone would do this on this album, all the songs are brilliant. i think that this is the best album oasis has produced. the images in the cover slip are well thought about, very artistic. i defineatly think that this album deserves to be in the top 10 albums that british bands have ...

the first album oasis turned out was heralded for its rawness and passion, now with this one they have matured and have produced a fine album which has more style and grace than the former raucous numbers. wonderwall does of course stand head and shoulders above the rest but the guitar work on champagne supernova (mostly due to paul weller) and the hauntingly brilliant don't look back in anger are tunes which define a youth culture. there are timeless ...

Review of (What's The Story) Morning Glory - Oasis
What’s The Story / Morning Glory from Oasis is one of the best pop / indie ablums around, includes many various classic songs like Roll With It, Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, Some Might Say, Champagne, and many other classic chart song hits. All the above have reached in the top 20 of the UK singles charts and the reason for this is because the songs are classic pop songs that are catchy as well as remember able. Overall I recommend this ...

What's the Story Morning Glory is my 2nd favourite album of all time(Definately Maybe being the first). There is not much between the two but I just and only just like Live Forever better than Wonderwall(these two being the best tracks of each album)

Advantages: Timeless songs, great guitar, so much swagger. Disadvantages: None
(What's The Story) Morning Glory? is the 3rd biggest selling album in UK chart history and has been given various accolades, it certainly enjoyed phenomenal success. But why? Roll With It Maintaining that heavily distorted guitar sound of Definitely Maybe Roll with it begin with that scuzzy guitar riff before uber melodies are stuffed down your throat. The songs got swagger and beauty all in one and thats what I think is so compelling about Oasis, they're all trousers but theres beauty in songwriting and intense sincerity behind all the mouth. Don't Look Back In Anger Sound ever so slightly like Hey Jude in the beginning, Noel brings it back in with the unmistackable sounds of a marshall stack and his own endearing voice. The words ...
