There are so many songs that I like on this album, I have just listened to it over and over. For me it's one of those albums that I loved from the first time I heard it. A lot of the songs do sound quite similar so if you don't like one there's a chance that you won't like a few of the others but for me it was a bonus for them to be alike because it meant a lot of great songs on one album! Am I the only person willing to say that "X&Y" is hopeless? I first became interested in Coldplay in 1999 after hearing a track from their "Blue Room" EP on the radio. I remember it because the dj, Steve Lamacq on radio 1 said it was limited to 5000 copies "which should be enough to go round!". If you like generic, unchallenging indie music, then this album will seem like the best ever written. It has depth at times, and in the case of the first half of the album, some outstanding melodies. Square One, the albums opener, could have been written by Radiohead, and the title track is a lost Beatles track. Fix You was one of the biggest hits, and deservedly so. Now for the bad stuff.
