It's hard to believe that this record was made 35 years
ago, and frankly, has yet to be bettered in terms of songs
and innovation.
Alot of people regard Sgt. Pepper as The Beatles
masterpiece, don't get me wrong, Pepper is cool but not
a patch on Revolver
Both Lennon and McCartney's writing is at it's peak here
and Harrison emerges as a force to be reckoned with with
the opener Taxman.
The journey through this album is a magnificent one,
taking in such gems as Eleanor Rigby, I'm Only Sleeping
For No One, Good Day Sunshine... The list goes on!
Perhaps for me, the crowning achievement on the album
is the final track Tomorrow Never Knows. A psychedelic
whirlwind of backwards tape loops and guitars! Often copied
but never bettered! (Chemical Brothers! Nice try boys..
but not quite!)
In conclusion this is a must own record for every self
respecting human (or otherwise) on this planet!
