Advantages: It's real english music at its best Disadvantages: Only 6 songs (EP)

The opening song, and the song most likely to be released as a single comes titled as 'this is not everything.' The sheer quality of this song comes from the somewhat masterful guitar playing of Hopkinson and Will Law, with lyrics to really get the juices flowing.

So you've run out of new CD's to buy, the genre is getting boring and you are looking for an up and coming band to get your dirty hands on before your mates do..? Well here they are, and at the average age of only 18 when this CD was released, the boys have truely managed somthing quite incredible.
The tracks on this CD are quite diverse, from upbeat post-hardcore to the slower more technical songs. James Hopkinson's vocals really take you by suprise, they are tuneful yet at the same time, as raw as that of homegrown music should be. The opening song, and the song most likely to be released as a single comes titled as 'this is not everything.' The sheer quality of this song comes from the somewhat masterful guitar playing of Hopkinson and Will Law, with lyrics to really get the juices flowing.
The tracks that follow do not fail to live up to this standard, and without realising, each and every track becomes your favourite, making it impossible to choose a stand out song. The drums played quite perfectly by Fred Furber do not take any sort of a back seat in this outfit, and there will be times when snare and hi-hat are the most important part of the song for you.
Each any every song has character, with tracks 4 and 5 'clutching at straws' and 'wrong direction' respectively, becoming two of the favourites at live shows. These songs are both pacey, technical, but at the same time enjoyable and easy to listen to. It is once again the perfect guitar sound that makes this band stand out from the rest. Will Law is a genius on guitar, laying the way for better things to come.
The last track on the CD is exactly what the last song on every CD should be...EPIC. The kind of song that you listen to the whole CD just to hear! It is quite incredible, heavy, dark, emotive, meaningful and technically brilliant. It takes the genre of post-hardcore to the extremes and pushes boundaries where other bands are scared to get lost. The drums keep the song moving, and the vocals bring about passion and feeling "I hope that you dont change, for anyone!" Hopkinson screams. The song does not just end and leave us hanging either, it slowly tinkles away in the form of Rich Rowes high grade piano skills. A perfect way to close a perfect first release.
It does take some real convincing that this EP was written by 4 talented 18 year olds, especially when the maturity of lyrics written by all members, including bassist Rich Rowe, stay lodged in your mind for hours after listening. Dont take my word for it, buy it and see for yourself. You'll be kicking yourself when you dont, only to read about them in NME next year.
