Blue or black?
Review of Devil In A Blue Dress (DVD) by  sunmeilan

Advantages: Great noir detective fiction
Disadvantages: None for me

...Ezekiel (Easy) Rawlins is down on his luck and worried about mortgage payments when he is offered a job as a private detective, investigating the disappearance of a white woman called Daphne. As Rawlins' employer, DeWitt Albright, believes that Daphne is hiding somewhere in Los Angeles' black district, Rawlins starts his investigation by speaking to some friends of his. One of them, Coretta, knows Daphne, and gives Rawlins some useful information, but when she is found bludgeoned to death the next day, Rawlins is the number one suspect. Can Rawlins avoid being charged for a murder he didn't commit and find out what happened to Daphne? Or is he involved in a bigger intrigue than he realised? Made back in 1995, this film seems even older than that because it is set back in the 1940s and is based on hardboiled detective fiction a la... Read review

Black and Blue... A Phenomenon in 2001!
Review of Black And Blue - Backstreet Boys by  shishy

Advantages: Pop, Love, Dance
Disadvantages: None so far!

...The Black and Blue album of the Backstreet Boys was released in November 2000. The idea of the title of the album came from Brian as the boys were in Los Angeles for a photoshoot. To promote the release of Black & Blue, the boys traveled around the world in 100 hours to Sweden, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, and the US. The album debuted with 1.9 million units sold in the first week in America, making the band the first ever artist to have two albums sell a million or more copies in the first week. In November 2000, Black & Blue had sold more than five million copies worldwide in its initial week, setting a new first-week record in international sales. Truly, this album is one of the most popular albums from the boys. Here are the titles of the tracks included in this album and some little info about it: Release Date: 11... Read review

WHICH IS THE ILLUSION - THE FIRST MB RE-RELEASED
Review of Days Of Future Passed (Deluxe Edition - Remastered) [Hybrid SACD] - Moody Blues & London Festival Orchestra by  Newfloridian

Advantages: The first Moody Blues concept album. Is this what started prog rock?
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little dated - but it is 40 years old!

...the first by the full Moody Blues line up that stayed together for the next seven discs. Justin Hayward (lead guitar), John Lodge (bass guitar), Mike Pinder (keyboards), Ray Thomas (flute), Graeme Edge (drums). They are backed (some would say the Moodies were the backing) by the London Festival Orchestra conducted by Peter Knight. On its first release the album reached number 27 in the album charts in the UK and remained in the charts for 16 weeks. It reached No.3 on the American album chart in April 1968. Nights In White Satin was released as a single in November 1967 when it reached No.19 in the UK charts. Since then it has been re-released on six occasions reaching its peak at No.2 in July 1972. DISC ONE I owned the LP back then and bought the CD when I upgraded my collection. This is my own personal review of the play list... Read review
