Klaus Schulze returns!

Advantages: Nice hypnotic grooves and soloing.
Disadvantages: Overlong, can be boring in parts.

Klaus Schulze has released so much old material in boxed sets or re-issues in the past 10 years that it almost passed my notice that he hasn't released a straight forward new studio album for ages. And here it is, supposedly a "fan pleasing" album featuring a mix of his famed 70s sequencer style with his more rhythmic contemporary sound. The end result is rather a joyful upbeat album for Schulze. The standard overlong tracks are still there, but if you adjust your listening head to just float along, they pass by remarkably quickly. The 30 minute "Playmate In Paradise" is really a track in two halves. The first is his standard contemporary style of rhythmic backbeats with only very sparse soloing. Autobiography, Gerrard and a FOOTBALLER

Believe me it is difficult, very very difficult. A thinker as he is on the field and his book proves that he is more than that- a thinker and a philosopher too. Other wise how can one explain the passion, the honesty, his beliefs, his philosophy of life as footballer of the highest class and a true family man, who has not put either his profession above his family and visa versa. How many celebrities, forget about football celebrities, has been able to do it ? He has been able to balance these two so admirably simply because being a celebrity, a private figure he never forgot HE IS FIRST A HUMAN BEING and then anything else. No wonder human values never over-rode his fathom less talent as a footballer. But I must first thank, probably Gerrard need not, the nurses, the doctors, the support stuff and the tremendous advancement ...

Xbox live

Advantages: Online gaming, good value, networking
Disadvantages: Some lag, temptation to spend more money on extras

Xbox Live is good value compared to some other online subscriptions e.g. World of Warcradt or Everquest as with these you pay everymonth just for one game, whereas with xbox live you only pay once to go online with pretty much all your games. You then get tempted, however, to pay for extra online contect such as extra levels, characters, backdrops for your xbox live dashboard, arcade games etc. etc. So it's never as cheap as it seems! The service on xbox live is good and it's rare to have connection issues so gameplat online tends to be smooth. Occasionally you may shoot at someone only to find they already moved- lag is rare but does happen and can be annoying. The range of games that can be played online is excellent, and isn't just shooting and fighting! Guitar hero plays online brilliantly with options for guitar battles ...
