This is a slow song, but very good.** 9) Glen Campbell Rhinestone Cowboy **This is a bit faster that #8, and really enjoy this song.** 10) Dawn Feat, Tony Orlando Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree **How many more cheesy songs, for goodenss sakes? Advantages: The biggest selling records from a memorable musical era

...This originally peaked at number 3 in 1969 but got a new lease of life when used for the Miller Lite beer commercials in 1988 when it hit the Number 1 slot. WICHITA LINEMAN - GLEN CAMPBELL Glen's debut chart entry peaked at number 7 in January 1969 and remained on the chart for 13 weeks. Personally I believe this to be the weakest track on the album and could easily have been replaced with any of the number 1's detailed previously which did not make it onto the album. To give you a flavour of Glens type of music he is probably best known in the UK for Rhinestone Cowboy and was a large country and western star in his native USA. EDELWEISS - VINCE HILL Vince's biggest hit reaching the number 2 slot in February 1967. Once again this is a weak track to end the second CD and personally I would not have included it on the album. Advantages: Great introduction to a songwriting genius

...styles of music. This song was a massive hit in 1968 a couple of weeks prior to the release of Hey Jude. At the time Jimmy's song was unprecedentedly long. Hey Jude, when released, was one second longer. No coincidence according to Jimmy who had visited the Beatles at Abbey road around this time. It must be conceeded that Jimmy's music is not loved by all, it is very much a love or hate thing. A perfect demonstration of this is the fact that MacArthur Park occassionally turns up in the 'Worst Song Ever' polls that are sometimes conducted. Some people just don't get him, and that's fine, it's all down to personal taste. If you are a fan of Country & Western you'll also have a fair bit of room in your heart for Jimmy.
