This album is the one that started it all for Metallica. COming off the back of the attrocious 'Kill 'em all' this music here is almost unrecognisable from that which is found there (apart from Trapped Under Ice which sounds like it was left over from that album). There are some seriously awesome tracks to be found here. Highlight of this album are:
For Whom The Bell Tolls - a moody masterpiece about war
Creeping Death - about moses in egypt an epic piece
Fade To Black - Metallica first (almost a) ballad track - excellent
The only criticism here really is that it is only 8 tracks long but that can be forgiven as 7 of them are excellent.
