Advantages: unique sound, brings the indie genre back to life
Disadvantages: some may find it too similar to the stone roses

...Being a massive indie rock and roll fan I’m always on the look out for new groups, as there appears to have been a distinct lack of solid bands since Oasis, Blur and The Verve. Therefore when coming across the band Kasabian, as featured on the Fifa 2004 soundtrack, I was pleasantly surprised. As I have often found with new modern bands such as Franz Ferdinand, Keane and Snow Patrol they are often very good but seem to lack a rock and roll edge or the vocals are, in my view, quite bland. Kasabian on the other hand are most definitely a cut above the rest. The lead vocalist, Sergio Pizzorno has an awesome voice which can be compared to the likes of Liam Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft and Ian Brown. The self- titled debut album by the Leicestershire boys is certainly something to be admired. Although, in my opinion, a long way off... Read review

Advantages: YOU CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW MANY PEOPLE'S LIVES WERE CHANGED BY THIS ALBUM AT THE TIME THIS ALBUM

A song displaying the bands characters better than any review or historical reflection, with just two or three phrases repeated The anger and arrogance of accepting the devil, and not being ashamed to admit that you should adore this rock band. Washed clean by the beauty of the melodies, and rythmn rising to a crash crash crescendo. Probably one of the most original rock songs of all time. track 2 She Bangs The Drums "Kiss me where the sun don't shine (ass to those of you who are a little slow on the uptake), the past was yours but the futures mine" Probably one of the greatest/simplest lyrics of all time, that washes over you, and then penetrates you hidden in the melodies again. track 3 Waterfall Probably one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time. nuff said. track 4 Don't Stop Very very clever use of studio effects...
