Reviews which might be of interest for "Robert Johnson And The Old School Blues - Robert Johnson"

Eric Clapton pays homage to Robert Johnson.

Advantages: Robert Johnsons music is showcased by great musicians.
Disadvantages: Not all Robert Johnsons songs were covered.

I rate this excellent because the guitarist pays homage to his hero, in his style the musicianship is without fault throughout. It is nice to see the Blues played with such energy and obvious enjoyment by all concerned. The only thing that could be a negative is that not all of Robert Johnsons songs have been covered by Eric Clapton yet and subsequentely presented on an album. I hope that these will be done on a future album, as EC has covered most of his work. I have personally heard Eric Clapton play "Milk Cows Calf Blues" and "Little Queen of Spades" from this album at the Royal Albert Hall and at the Manchester Evening News Arena and the live versions were even better than on the cd. Robert Johnson, in his short life, only wrote and recorded 29 songs before he was killed, the most popular version of his death being that he ...

Chesapeake Blue- a fairly good work by Nora Roberts

Advantages: A nice plot and a shows the potrait of a really nice family. Really feel good.
Disadvantages: Does not match up to Nora Roberts other works. Gets boring in places.

'Chesapeake Blue' was really blue even in the tone of writing and oh even the cover page was all blue blue. Nora Robert was a letdown with this particular book of hers. Though it is good as compared to other books of the same genre, knowing that I was reading Nora Roberts book had set the expectation too high and I didn't expect to get something 'good' I was looking for 'exceptional' may be that is why I was disappointed. But not a bad read, go for it but don't be too critical and you may end up enjoying it. Here's a brief sketch of the story: It's homecoming for Seth Quinn. And no he's not coming back to his parents but to people who have kept him sane all this years from his very mother. Drusilla is a newcomer to town and she's opened a flower shop in the quiet serene town away from where her name of banks could haunt her and also to ...

Review of Chesapeake Blue - Nora Roberts

A romantic whodunnit from Nora Roberts

Advantages: An absorbing read
Disadvantages: A little predictable

ANGELS FALL NORA ROBERTS In this book - "Angels Fall" - Nora Roberts mixes mystery and romance. This book, published in 2006, contains three main subplots in the story -- a murder mystery, Reece's romance with Brody, and Reece's struggle to gain back normality. Ms Roberts manages to incorporate the three aspects together resulting into and novel. The story starts with the heroine, cook Reece Gilmore, as her car has broken down in Angel's Fist, Wyoming. Reece decides decides to stay in the little town for a day - but that day turns into months as she takes a a job as a cook in the local diner, rents the apartment upstairs and settles into town life at Angel's Fist. It is then, through dreams and flashbacks from Reece, that e learn that she hasbeen the victim of a viscious and brutal crime in ...
