This is a self-titled album by singer songwriter Robert Post. He comes from a small village in Norway called Langevaag and he got together with two friends, Tor and Alf, and set about to record an album. Tor does the drums and Alf plays bass for Post. Mike Hedges is the producer of the album, who has produced work for many different artists such as the Manic Street Preachers or Travis. This album looks like it could be set to be big in due time.

Again, I first heard some of his music through a friend, when he downloaded one of the songs though iTunes. Once I’d heard this song, I wanted to hear more as it was so upbeat and yet seemed to be different to general pop music that you would hear on the radio. I listened to the album with enthusiasm waiting for more wonderfully crafted songs that really make you want to sing along. I found a few on the album and some weak links too, however it would be something to recommend to someone who enjoys the sound of the Beatles, Coldplay or Paul Simon.

~~The tracks

1. There’s One Thing (4.42)
2. Got None (3.59)
3. Silence Makes Him Sick (3.45)
4. High Tide (3.26)
5. More and More (3.51)
6. Big Boat (3.51)
7. Newborn (3.52)
8. Everything is Fine (4.08)
9. Ocean and a Tear (5.11)
10. Come Home (3.24)
11. Far Away From This Town (2.47)

The best track on the album is definitely Got None (track 2). This is the initial track that I heard from Robert Post, and it was so catchy, I was singing along straight away – this is the song that I heard that made me want to hear more of his music. Right from the start of the song, it is a song that makes me feel upbeat and will nod my head to. I like the chorus the best however and I think that this is one which many people will enjoy.

Another song that I really like is High Tide, this one is a little more chilled out, but the melody works really well.

The others are really good to listen to and with both his voice and the melody, makes for really good listening. The best thing about these songs is that they are all usually really catchy and really good melodies to keep you listening.

I think that my least favourite track on the album would probably be Come Home. This just seems a little too chilled out and I don’t seem to be able to connect to it that much, however it is nice to have a song that’s a little more laid-back on an album. Although this is my least favourite, it is still one which I wouldn’t turn over just because it has come on, I would still listen to it, and it is enjoyable too.

~~Price
I have seen this CD advertised online on Amazon in their marketplace for around £5 or on Play.com for less than £10. Ciao also claims that it can be bought for less than £10, which is really reasonable for an album. I haven’t looked for this in any shops, however on hmv.co.uk it is for sale for £7.99.

~~Conclusion
I think that this album would suit many different types of listener. I have told some of my friends about him and they all tend to sit tapping their fingers and singing or humming along to the tunes, even though they all have very different tastes in music.

I don’t think that it is one of my favourite albums in my collection, however I think that it is one of the ones that would suit most people if I were to play it, as some of my music can be a little weird and wonderful. It’s a good all-rounder and one which is quite a good pick me up after a long day. I don’t think there has been much publicity, and if you Google his name, there is not much that is produced, however I think that with a bit more media attention, this could be a good selling album.
