..."RobinHood, RobinHood,
With his band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
RobinHood! RobinHood! Robin Hoooooooood!*
Until last year had anyone mentioned the words "Robin" and "Hood" you could bet that would be the first thing that sprung to my mind. Sweet sure-but really something a noble, justice-fighting makes-you-proud-to-be-british (if you REALLY want to ham it up) guy should be representated as? Yet alone an outlaw.
-BUT- now thanks to Andy Price (composer) and the smooth stylings of the Danubia Symphony Orchestra who performed at the Budapest Opera House, that is no more.
Say those words to me now:
*bur-de-dar-BUUUUUUUR* trumpets flare, orchestras sing.
Now thats more like it
There are 34 tracks on this album, wont list them so as to save space. And as my brother so wonderfully pointed out most of them...

Advantages: Robin Hood's Theme Disadvantages: Not complete score
...With the help of Student Loans and the Internet I've managed to track down most of my favourite soundtracks, and this one was definitely worth the effort. Michael Kamen's awesome, rousing RobinHood theme is a classic (worth buying the CD for on its own) and the rest of the CD is pretty much flawless as well. Buy this CD and you won't be disappointed, unless you are after the complete score which isn't available anywhere anyway. (If you like Michael Kamen, he also did the soundtrack to the truly...

Advantages: some classic reggae tracks including Rivers of babylon Disadvantages: 2 tracks are repeated
...shantytown low-life gangster (played by Jimmy Cliff) and his RobinHood style journey from disaster to tragedy in the Jamaican slums. It was, and is, a brilliantly engaging film to which the Brazilian film 'City of God' owes not a little of its style and atmosphere.
The soundtrack, as well as complimenting the atmosphere of the film, in its compilation nicely represents that form of pre-Marley reggae known as Rock-Steady. Together with Ska, Rock-Steady came directly from Calypso and retained some of its 'jauntiness' while still being able to be sometimes dark and mournful.
Half the tracks on the CD are performed by Jimmy Cliff himself, as is the first:
*1-You Can Get It If You Really Want*
Well known track that hit the mainstream charts. Up tempo reggae.
*2-Draw Your Brakes*
Sung by 'Scotty', a popular Jamaican DJ in the 60's and 70's. He...
